June is coming to an end and Canada Day is just around the corner.

Today was yet another busy day running around getting things done.

I have a couple of proud announcements to make. First, my son has learned to stand up with the support of furniture. It's amazing he started crawling only on fathers day, now I know he'll be walking before summers end. Everyone disagreed and bet he would walk by Christmas, in this case mommy was right.

My daughter has been doing extremely well at preschool, she had received a certificate for good behaviour last week but we picked her up early Friday so she didn't have a chance to get it. So proud of my girl, kids are strong these days.

Tonight I almost agreed to adopt a cat. Busy me with my munchkins, hubby and big dog. Allow me to explain: I love animals, when I was a child I cried over humaine society commercials and want to keep every stray I found outside (not that mymother would have any of it) I lost my beloved lucky when I was 17. He died of old age after living in my care since I was 6. Nothing would replace him.
Today my daughter saw a lady with a black kitten. He looked identicle to my lucky, even had a white patch on his belly. My daughter asked the woman if it was her kitten and the woman said yes but he's looking for a new home. My heart melted and I was thinking of taking him in, adopting him for my little girl. I told the woman I'd talk it over with the hubby and come see her if I decide to take him.
Unfortunately thinking has become somewhat of a hobby and reality hit : it's just not the right time. I'm sure he'd need shots, litter&box, food, dishes, collar and tags. All of which (except litter and dishes) is already taken out of the budget for the dog. Not to mention the dog. Not fair to him or the cat because he's not fully trained (listens when he wants but improving!). I would rather wait a little as cute as the kitten was and how sweet my daughters "please mom" eyes are, not yet. There are many cats wearing the "free to a good home" tag, we'll find one when mom has more energy to take care of another being.
The decision will just be put on hold until the next lucky gives me that look.

Dream on--

Here in Ottawa, Ontario there are certain by laws about picking up after your pets, more or less after your dog upon taking it for a walk.
I recently wrote an article on helium in a debate whether or not States in the USA who don't have the by law should!
It won't kill you to bring a bag when you know fido is going to do his do do!

As someone who walks everywhere AND is the owner of a large breed dog -- every right to RANT!

I went to the corner store earlier it's about 3-4 blocks maybe less away. Three times I JUST missed stepping in dog piles on the side walk!

The worst is running over it unknowingly with a stroller...
I'm just saying dogs are a responsibility -- feeding, water, shelter and cleaning up after them -- especially in public areas! DH brings our dog for his walks and never forgets the bag!! It's like forgetting a diaper when you bring a baby out...common sense!

Thought I'd share my mini rage for a moment :-)

Before I began this blog my family and I lived in a "project" we were desperate and the place is what we needed at the time.

The kids in that particular project come from all walks of life, all races, religions etc. No matter who you were the kids showed no respect for property, pets or people including other kids parents. They would be vulgar and violent especially a select group of boys. We warned them several times if they as much as looked at our dd funny we'd be visiting their parents for a chat.

They would taunt our dog by throwing marbles at him or "bark" at him. All of us couldn't wait to move.

Today, a year later we see these kids from our old project -- as rude and vulgar if not worse than before. These aren't little kids they are preteens or "Tweens" as they call them now. Not even old enough to shave yet the F word flows out like a second language. F this F that F you. Omg they would be eating soap for dinner if they were mine but they aren't so all I can do is shake my head in disgust.

It makes you almost want to meet their parents and see who taught them or in this case didn't teach manners. Simple common sense like not swearing when there's a pool full of little kids, set an example parents!

My daughter is 4 she doesn't need to see these older kids acting like that, thankfully mine is smart and calls them "bad boys". I know my kids aren't perfect but they are polite...so far & I plan to continue to teach them respect and manners, besides who wants to be the parents with the vulgar kids! Not this mommy!!

Ever notice how the weather seems to ruin it all? Nice and hot all week great pool weather, the community centre decided to open the pool Thursday. Thunder showers Friday and chilly today Saturday. The weekend of all time to get bad weather! Now it's threatening to rain next week Wednesday is CANADA DAY so celebrations may be indoors this year! As you can see I'm disappointed but oh well we will make the best of it!

The sun is trying to peek out from behind the clouds, much like my personal thoughts lately.

Unfortunately in my writing world things are slow.Having lost a rating and writing star plus seeming to have little inspiration...maybe my horoscope is right and it's all about the planetary allignment!

Finances, appointments, plus all that hip dysplasia/arthritis/osteoperosys stuff going through my mind, I admit I may not be dying here but we are dealing with my ability to walk and that scares me. They saved my leg when I was 9 I'm just afraid they won't be able to fix it. People tell me with advances in technology etc but I already know I've read many a testimony but those people I'm sorry were older! They didn't have young kids to worry about. I'm sounding totally selfish again but this fear I can put aside and I have to wait until September to know for sure what's going on.

For now I should focus in taking it easy & try not to stress. Key word is TRY no guarentee I will...

Running on 3hrs of sleep and a lot of coffee I was able to push through the day!

The neonatal went well and we went out for errands this evening...we went to get mcdonalds for supper on the go and my daughter didn't finish her burger which isn't like her. Figured she ate too many fries and moved on..

About 20 mins later I was waiting with the kids while hubby went to get a few things at the grocery store when my 4 year old announced she had to "go" knowing there was no bathroom close by I told her to wait and we'd go before heading home.

Before heading out we ran into some people we knew and haven't seen in a while so while hubby is chatting our daughter is dancing "mom I really gotta go!" so again told her one minute. Well one minute passed and she goes "oh no! There's poop in my pants!!" omg she didn't tell me WHAT she had to do...either way when u gotta go you gotta go I guess...

Ok so now I'm not mad...I was actually laughing at the situation that's how sleep deprived I am. We went to the nearest gas station...she's lucky it was an emergency because omg that bathroom hadn't been cleaned in EVER! so gross...after cleaning her up we finally went home...disinfected the kids before putting them to bed...

I finally got a phone call from the dr--seeing the specialist in September about my hip -- scared but I'll enjoy my summer then worry!

Time for me to disinfect myself with a shower ;-) peace & love

What a day! If it's not one thing it's another the fun never ends in my house lol

This week seems to be a terrible week for the celebrity relm. Three great celebrities passed away this week, two just today.

Every media press, social networking websites and blogs are all talking about it.

Tv figure Ed McMahon passed away on June 23rd he was 86 years old. Known for giving other stars their shot to fame.

First news this morning Farrah Fawcett passed away at the age of 62, she had been battling cancer. Farrah was one of the original charlies angels.

The most shocking one of all, King of Pop himself Michael Jackson passed away by heart attack at the age of 50! Despite what the media tried to make him out to be, his music soothed many souls and uplifted many spirits!

These famous icons will be greatly missed but never forgotten from what gift of entertainment they have left us with!

RIP--Farrah,Ed and MJ

Today is hotter than HELL outside! 34 degrees with the humidity and we had to be out in it!

We had a bad night in our household, the baby was up due to the humidity and gas cramps...every half our or so from 3am to around 5:30am he would cry on and off waking everyone but his sister. Several attemps to calm him down by the time we finally got to sleep the birds were chirping and soon after my alarm was going off to begin another day.

After getting less than three hours of sleep nobody was in a good mood this morning, Exhausted or not obligations need to be met.

9:00am I had to be on my way to the childrens hospital for my sons neonatal follow up. My hubby had plans to help his father with a few things outside around 8:30.

Just as my hubby left this morning our daughter fell so back in they came to wash her up she was upset and devistated, poor thing! So she and dad went on their ways while our son and I went on ours.

I'm happy, no neonatal until after summer! The buses to get there are aweful! The 30 degree heat doesn't make it any more enjoyable but it's done!

Next up -- running errands...still running on less than 3 hrs of sleep!!

Wow I've had little to no inspiration for writing in the past couple of days. I hate when that happens. My mind is too full with real issues in my life its hard to concentrate on writing about other things I guess.
Good news I still have my 3 writing stars and my 3 rating stars. I put in another article today as well. One i had written a few days ago that needed some editing. 38 articles! I think I'll reach my 100 before the end of the summer! My own personal goal. That and maybe sell one on the market, ugh I hate competing for publishers! Someone want to hire me?? Just kidding!

This morning was a RUSH. I was actually up early but right before we had to leave for daycare to drop off the DD my little 15 month old cutie decided he wanted to take a dip in the dogs water dish. Our dog has BIG DISHES because he's a BIG DOG. Well lets just say my kitchen floor was flooded and I had 15 minutes left to change the baby and get our butts moving to the school. Luckily my DH hadn't left yet so he helped clean it up while I got the kids out the door. Right on time. Speaking of which I'm leaving shortly to pick up DD. This should be interesting my first time going to get her alone with her brother in the stroller lol

Time to get ready and do that until next entry -- Keep DREAMING!

6/21/09

Children often use the phrase "it was an accident" to get out of doing something they shouldn't have been doing and got caught for in hopes to ease the pressure of the authority who caught them. Sometimes however it really IS an accident and my daughter showed me today how sensitive about hurting her brother she is.

After dinner time I was playing with both my kids. My daughter had left the room for a bit only to come back dressed in her old Halloween costume as snow white. Now my youngest is a 15 month old preemie who just recently learned to crawl...EVERYWHERE and his sister, without seeing him (or giving me time to react) danced straight over her brother, tripped and nearly face planted him into the floor. Of course being 15 months old and hit from behind my son cried his loud scared cry as I quickly picked him up to check him for boo boos.

I looked over at my daughter expecting her to have her typical "oops sorry" attitude when I saw she was in tears herself. I gave the baby to dad and had a chat with my daughter that showed maturity on her level and how she loves her brother...almost made me cry...

She said "I'm a bad big sister, it was an accident I didn't mean to make him fall, Im no good at taking care of him, I hurt his little head!!" I explained about being careful around him because he's crawling now and we went to say "sorry" and see if he was ok.

Back to normal, she gave her brother a kiss and said she wouldn't let him get hurt again...

What a little girl I have. She's growing up so fast! I thought I would share my story....

Another Hallmark celebration come & gone. Today was fathers day. We celebrated by spending time together as a family. The kids made their daddy some home made gifts, my oldest made hers at preschool :-)

My hubby loved them! He also got an iPhone stereo dock (logitec) and a iPhone case for his iPhone.

Just some small tokens of our appreciation on this day even tho the kids show how much he means everyday an amazing daddy!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY 2 ALL THE GREAT DADS OUT THERE!!

Until next blog entry--

6/20/09

It's Saturday afternoon, time to get the kids settled either napping or doing something quiet. Fathers Day is tomorrow so what better way to keep your older kids doing something productive while making dad some home made gifts!

Earlier today my daughter said she had some things to make for dad so she got out her markers, paper and glue. She made him a card with dog and Madagascar movie stickers. Those were cute ideas from a 4 year old mind :)

For fathers day the preschool she attends had a great idea this year. They (the kids) made a home made picture frame from Popsicle sticks, a poem with their foot print, a #1 Dad certificate and a neat little car freshner.

I used to love doing things like that as a child so I enjoy seeing what she brings home. My creative little girl!!

My daughter is determined to keep it a surprise so she made me "hide" it until Sunday! Well late lunch time! Until later....

Thank Goodness Its Friday, the phrase just about everybody is saying today. The final day wrapping up an insanly busy and exhausting week.

Both my kids had appointments this week and both my kids were sick this week. My daughter had what seemed to be a 24hrs flu. Unfortunately it was passed onto her younger brother. Being a 15 month old preemie and having previous immunity problems (he had 3 blood transfusions last spring) he suffered a fever and a mild febrile seizure.

Febrile seizures occur in babies/kids 6 months to 5 years old as a result of high fever caused by infection/illness, in my sons case the flu. He will be seeing neonatal next week. It was very breif and I have dealt with this before my daughter had one at 11 months old due to fever, only the once.

Needless to say even though we've dealt with situations before involving the kids it's just as terrifying to feel absolutely helpless.

The worst feeling is helplessness when seeing a child sick through the eyes of a parent...we are just happy he's ok now!

Exhausted -- time for bed and will update tomorrow!

Today felt like the hottest day so far this year. I brought my oldest to see an allergist, I don't know why my family dr would tell my four year old they use a new tape method instead of those pin type needles for testing. She wasn't happy and I felt terrible because I know it doesn't hurt that much but to her it felt like a lie or a trick.

Tell her it won't hurt and it does when one of her fears is any kind of pain even minimal, she gets a paper cut and it's a big deal.

Anyway turns out she's not allergic to anything but they still don't know why she's always stuffy. It's almost as if the dr took a wild guess. I think she should have been sent to an ear/nose/throat specialist but I don't have a phd so what do I know I've only raised her for 4 1/2 years!

Anyway we'll have a follow up and see what happens.

I took her to McDonalds for a cone after. My kids are brave little soldiers. We don't have a car so it hurts having to drag them by foot everywhere. Not every parents idea of going for errands or to appointments...

Anyway...

Still haven't heard from the orthopedic sureon for my hips. I'm nervous about that. I hope it can hold up at least another year...it still hasn't sunk into my head yet about needing a replacment, maybe I'm still in shock or I knew it...again another waiting game.

Well it's late and I'm exhausted...try to write more tomorrow!

Nobody looks forward to Monday mornings, the end of the weekend and the beginning of another busy week. This morning I had to be up extra early to make it *by bus* to my sons paediatrician appointment. Everything went well and it was immunization day. He was so brave and didn't even cry, he just looked at the nurse for the first one and the second he whined for about 10 seconds and it was over :-) What a brave little boy we have :-)

The appointment itself wasn't a big deal, he is actually a much easier baby than his sister was at that age when it comes to things like doctors. His sister did not like doctors, even at the age of 4 she still asks if she has to get a needle every time we have to see her Dr or go to the clinic when shes not feeling well.

I think the bus route to this specific dr we see is ridiculous. I had to walk a good 15 minutes to the doctors office from the transit way on the bike path which takes you ALL the way around and to get out I had to go ALL the way around again plus up an elevator, over a covered bridge and back down an elevator to get to my stop to go home. Pain in the butt! I'm lucky the baby fell asleep so he wasn't my main concern when trying to make my way home. I hate going far for the first time when I have no idea where Im going. Been to his doctors before but always had a ride, not anymore, I bus it now.

On another note, I don't care who says "crocs are out" or "look stupid" both my kids wear crocs (well immitation, Im not paying 30$ for my kids summer shoes they either wreck or grow out of by the end of summer!) Anyway today my little boy wore his to the doctors, it was humid this morning. We got about 8 compliments from different people saying how cute his little crocs are and how they "didnt know they made them so small" LOL I love baby clothes and accessories, mini versions to what grown ups get to wear.

Well its time to give my little man a snack, lets see if I can maybe get him to go for a nap. He seems FINE after his immunization, no reaction except a small rash around one of the areas but other than that he's fine, Im only shocked because usually he gets flu like symptoms for 24hrs, same with his sister. Oh well we'll keep an eye on him and see :-)

I will update again later on...Im so exhausted!!!!!

6/13/09

Finally a beautiful sunny on a weekend! We slept in this Saturday morning being exhausted and drained from the week we forgot my mother in law was visiting for a couple of hours so we were woken by the phones ringing.

It was a nice visit, my parents in laws are close and here frequently gives the kids a chance to see them and spend a little time together.

Right now I am sitting at my patio while my daughter innocently tortures a worm thinking it's her new pet.

On another subject my helium score changed now to two writing stars and three rating stars. I have had so much on my mind lately from my own personal health to upcoming appointments and events and how to do it all with little money and NO car. Can't wait for all the appointments to be done for the summer!

Maybe we can relax sometime this summer!!!

Even though the weatherman predicted rain this afternoon the sun was out and it was that kind of weather you want to be out in!

My hubby was cleaning up the back yard and helping maintain my little flower garden. I had to empty any laying water in case of mosquito breeding (yuck!!)

My hubby pointed out I have ROSES in my garden! So far they look like picky stems...

I didn't really have to plant anything yet although now that I see what's growing I want to get some flowers to finish it off.

We seem to have some unidentified flowers if anybody can tell me what they are. After all I'm no Martha Stewart when it comes to plants!

Pretty red ones!

I think these are violets...

Not sure if these will bloom...

The flower patch garden :-)

Like I said it still needs work but I'm proud of it and thank my hubby for it too :-) I never had my own little garden before it's nice to sit outside with nice scenery.

Every baby is precious especially our very own. My son is a miracle in my eyes. Every milestone as a preemie he's reached from finally breathing on his own, learning to drink from a bottle, being on his tummy etc have been special because we didn't know if he would make it through the first 24 hours of his life but after months of struggling to reach milestones of preemies his age, my son learned how to sit up on his own! He's so proud when he does something new he's been practicing hard.

He will be one year old corrected age on Sunday the 14th of June which makes him 15 months old birth age. An extra reason to celebrate!

-- My little man today outside with mommy and daddy (big sister at preschool) :-)

6/11/09

Already in the middle of June, once again we say "time sure does fly!". This has been a strange month, having bad news this past week, bad weather and not so perfect behaviour from my children finally the week is coming to and end. We can all take a nice deep breathe and relax tomorrow night.

For tonight after having another long morning/early afternoon of running errands I decided to edit and publish my recent drafts for www.helium.com for those followers who are fellow writers and would like to join please, visit the website and sign up its free!

Total articles now on Helium: 36
Total Writing Stars on Helium: 3
Total Rating Stars on Helium: 2

I'm proud of my stats. I leapfrogged one article being Helium changed their rules on selling the articles (making it easier so no complaints) the only catch is you have to have it rated high and this particular one was lacking ALOT. Needless to say I got it done and I'm happy about it.

My daughter was having a bit of a hard week this week, after bringing home several certificates of good behaviour it went down again. She tries so hard, she knows shes going into kindergarten soon so the babyish behaviour has to stay back at preschool. My daughter is the type of child who is sensitive but has a temper, she likes to get her way and she'll try anything to get her way. Basically won't take no for an answer (I have to laugh she reminds me of her dad).

We have been working on this for a while now. Some days she can be such an angel and then others forget it! I know people say "thats every kid" but oh some days it just shouldn't be mine acting like that! As I keep telling myself, give her time, shes only going on 5.

My son will be celebrating turning One Year Corrected Age on the 14th of June. It's a big milestone for us too. He is doing amazing considering everything he's been through. Monday we have to do a hard thing, get immunization :-( I hate going for that and seeing my kids cry and theres nothing I can do but comfort them with a hug at the end. I can imagine my son on Monday, oh boy!

Well its getting late, time to get ready for bed and call it a night. Feels good to use the computer as it doesnt take me as long to write an entry!! Oh well someday I will have my mini laptop or maybe better yet my macbook (dream on!)

Keep Dreaming.......
The city of Aylmer in Western Quebec is in shock today as one of it's oldest, historical landmarks and the heart of the town, St. Pauls Church scorched down to it's foundation in a brutal early morning fire

Investigating police say Arsen as the "mystery" of the burning heritage unfolds finding a gas can at the scene of the crime (reported by www.ctv.ca full story there)

I write this as a former resident of Aylmer, Quebec. My father remarried with his current wife there as well as many others have fond and sentimental memory of the old church. Thank goodness nobody was injured as it took place between midnight and 2am.

I am disgusted at anyone who would target an organization like a church, a place of worship, for whatever hate crime reason they did it in and I hope they are brought to justice. Very sad when it's in a place once known as home.

God bless the good souls....

The Drs appointment was a little harder than I thought when my dr mentioned what the specialist had said on my last hip scan. I need surgery, but first new scans to determine the extent of damage since my last scan and determine if it will be a replacement or similar reconstructive surgery like I had done at the age of 9. Either way call me "out for the count" when it happens.

I'm 27 years old right now so hearing "hip replacement" made me feel at a loss of words. I knew eventually down the road, long down the road I would require surgery, but as a woman and a mother my kids are still young and dependant on me! They need me on my two feet...I'm scared I admit it, we are talking about my ability to walk and be mobile here.

I have the support of my husband don't get me wrong I'm just speaking from a more personal point of view. This is a topic I will be bouncing on and off of as my blog grows.

A big event in my adult life that could change everything.

Being part of the helium community so far has been fun. Even though I haven't sold a piece (yet) I am still gaining my writers reputation through helium genius writing star and rating star programs.

For a while I had been producing article after article, going back revising and editing any dumb mistakes I had missed before hitting the publish button, and my ratings went up!

Within a few weeks of being a member I earned 1 writing star and a marketplace premier writer badge. I seemed to have been stuck with those stars until I checked yesterday and noticed I had 2 writing stars and finally after waiting my very own gold rating star.

I was pretty happy after all my hard work was showing but this morning was the real kicker. I logged into helium and visited my stats page to see 3 writing stars and 2 gold rating stars!

After the bad news I recieved this afternoon these little stars give me something to smile about...my stats:

A friend told me to say it loud and proud "I am a writer!" :-)

Dream on ...
"it's raining, it's pouring! The old man is snoring!" Raining it is, old man not so much!

Days just seem to fly by lately and there never seems to be enough time in one to get everything done.

Last week ended with an afternoon visit with both my parents in law and my mom & stepdad. Include us and the kids we had quite the houseful of visitors all day! It was fun though and it's always nice to see everyone.

The weekend was quiet, we took the children out, my daughter walked the entire way and we ended up with McDonalds for a quick snack after stopping for the kids at the local Dollarama.(dollar stores are great!)

It's official, my old first generation iPod touch had been sold to a new owner. A very nice tech guy so at least I know it won't be abused. The iPod still had 13 months warrenty so why waste is sitting in the box unused! Sad to see it go but it's just an item.

Today I have a doctors appointment, a consultation for referral to an orthopaedic surgeon for my CHD and OA (congenial hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis) I can admit I am a bit scared.

Nearly three years have passed since I've been to a specialist and I already know the damage from use has gotten worse, scared to know what I already know I guess but I need confirmation.

With that scary note to leave I'm going to get ready for my appointment. I'll update with news when I return...
Keep dreaming....

Busy just isn't a strong enough word to describe the past two weeks! With our everyday routine plus running here and there by foot nearly everyday plus laundry and weekly house chores it almost feels like this week has just been one long ongoing day with 4-6hr nap breaks every 17-18hrs of go go go!
The baby was sick above everything else going on this week, maybe because he's starting more solids it didn't agree plus he's getting over a cold. It was a hard 48 hrs of him crying his "I'm hurting" heart breaking little cry. After some prunes, tempra and a good sleep he woke up feeling much more himself with big smiles for mommy this morning.
It always feels good to know you can help make them feel better. I still remember being helpless when he was in the NICU.
My week ends with a visit from mom tomorrow. Going to watch a movie now to wind down. Dream on!

What a week this has been! We started off the week alright by selling my old cellphone on a used buy and sell website called www.usedottawa.com it's a handy and free place to buy and sell things!

Anyway we did groceries Monday with the two kids on tow, on foot, in the pouring rain!!

As crazy as it sounds we really have no other alternative, but got it donevwith some determination. We've all felt kind of wrecked since.

Yesterday we ran some other errands and got a iTunes card in hopes to buy the sims 3 which released yesterday at the app store. Found out iTunes aren't good for apps so we had to get a prepaid credit card to buy it. I don't mind so much all the updates after are free and it's an EA game! Usually worth it.

Now after all that my son isn't feeling well. I had to reschedule two appointments from tomorrow because he's got a cold and cramps (maybe the cereal he ate?) poor guy I hope I don't have to go to cheo with him!

So busy lately I haven't had a chance to post on helium at all! Ugh it's never going to work with the life I have right now. I'll try anyways never give up!

Oh update on ib.com I declined it because lack of popularity and reference to the site.

It was a long weekend where everyone was tired from the week still and the weather not so nice.

My hubby worked hours into a couple of days to try and fix that iPhone he had bought but no luck had him to the point of almost selling it when he found somebody who could help. Now everything is good and my hubby is happily personalizing his new gadget and I'm getting back into things after being out of the online world for a couple of days.

My hubby passed on his iPhone 2G to me so I am selling my iPod touch and accessories on kijiji and usedottawa. So far I've had one offer for a trade iPod for gas scooter. I laughed, what would I need that for? I'm almost 28 here not 13 LOL nice try but no thanks!

In gaming news just as I get my iPhone I find out the sims 3 is released Tuesday on of mac and iPhone/iPod touch. Can't wait I've always been a fan of the sims! Yet another electronic addiction.

We set up our daughters v-smile game yesterday. It's ok but I find it a little out dated to the graphic quality she's used to and it seems as if the machine might be rough on our new tv which is not cool. I'll have to read up on the specs incase it's not meant for a projection theater screen. If it's defective it's going back to zellers!

Being a quiet weekend still kept busy with the kids, I didn't have a chance to write for helium, I did start one draft bUt I might scrap it.

Anyways late night going to bed:)
