We are not huge steak eaters here but we do grill the occassional, PC's Steak Spice Marinade will come in handy to help make our next steak tender and flavourful.

Sandwiches won't be the same after you've tried PC's Avacado Mayonaise! It brings flavour to a whole new level. Something uniquw and different from the everyday. I enjoy it on chicken or in egg sandwiches! Yum!

Our daughter loves to draw, she can sit for hours coming up with creative artwork. Sometimes they are simply silly, imaginative pictures that tell a story and sometimes they reflect how she feels - such as a recent picture she drew this week. I love it.

"Mom I love you, D I love you, I love you Dad and ? I love you". These are the small things that make even the hardest days, worth it.

Spider-Man is a household name,an awesome comic book super hero *most* of us grew up with and still enjoy as movies are still being made about the crawling crusader.

Our son is four years old and as any typical little boy, has grown to love super heros as much as his daddy does. He watches Spider-Man cartoons on TV and he has seen the first Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

Another Spider-Man movie, The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield this time as Spidey, hits theatres on July 3rd 2012. I am interested to see this new take on a classic super hero!

To celebrate the release of the latest Spider-Man movie to hit theatres, Hasbro Canada has all kinds of great toys for those Marvel action hero fans out there!

The Amazing Spider-Man 3.75” Mission Action figures are fun for the imagination. Kids can pretend they are Spidey in action! There is an assortment of four different Spiderman’s to choose from each with a different accessory.

Web Battlers Lizard – Web Battlers bring the movie to life in your own play room! These action figures come in Spider-Man or Lizard, who is Spider-Man’s arch enemy in the movie. Squeeze his legs for arm flailing action! He makes a great addition to any Spiderman fans imaginative play.
Spider Strike Battle Vehicle – Spider-Man’s got himself a cool ride with this car! Not only does it look great, it also holds a surprise that Spidey’s enemies won’t even know about until it hits them! Press on the back of the car and out pops spidey attached to a web, kicking down the bad guys and saving the day again! The car comes with a Spider-Man action figure and also comes in two colours, red or black!

The Amazing Spider-Man Hero Mask – Now you can BE your favourite super hero with this really cool (and detailed) Spiderman mask! It has suction cup-like padding around the eyes which makes it more comfortable to wear than straight on plastic to your face. There is an adjustable Velcro strap at the back so it can fit even smaller heads!

Mega Blaster Web Shooter with glove set – Take your imagination to the next level when you slide on this cool Spiderman glove and attach the Web shooter! You can shoot web fluid or water when you press the middle of the Web shooter with your middle fingers, just like Spiderman does! The set includes one can of Web fluid and a refillable water bottle.

These are just some of the great toys available in the Hasbro Marvel Spider-Man collection! Check out www.hasbro.ca to see more Amazing Spiderman toys!

With summer holidays less than a week away it's time to start stocking up the cupboards with wholesome, tasty snacks for everyone to enjoy. New snacks are always welcome in our home so when we were asked by Pepsico to give their new Twistos a try, we couldn't resist!

Inspired by gourmet foods and made with all natural flavours, new Twistos baked snack bites are the perfect convenient, poppable snack that is enjoyable almost anywhere. Every crispy bite is perfectly seasoned so that they are irresistibly delicious right out of the bag!

We received all three yummy flavours to try out: Parmesan & Garlic, Asiago, and Bruschetta. Twistos are crispy, light and not to mention flavourful. With only 90 calories per 17 crackers, Twistos make a great light afternoon snack for everyone. The kids enjoyed the Parmesan & Garlic while my favourite is the Bruschetta.

Not only are they great right out of the bag but you can also use Twistos baked snack bites in soup, in a salad in place of croutons, or even bake them into a delicious recipe!

You can find Twistos Baked Snack Bites in the chip aisle for approximately $2.69 each 150g bag! For more information about Twistos please visit the website at www.twistos.ca!

Making memories is something we have been doing since we became a family. We have dozens upon dozens of photos and some videos, too few in my opinion. Every camera we have owned be it just a simple digital camera that also captures video or a digital video camcorder itself, never have we had the delight of using a device that was as unique and user friendly as the PTPA Award Winning Sony HDR-PJ260V Handycam camcorder.

It’s been a couple of weeks since the courier dropped off the box which has given us some time to get familiar with it, check out all the awesome features mentioned in our last Sony post and show you what kind of quality memories you can expect from shooting a video to editing and sharing our memories with family and friends.

The Sony Handycam makes it easy to start as it comes with everything you need to begin making your very own home movie library.

  • Charger cable
  • USB Adapter cables
  • HDMI Cable
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Instructions manual
  • Customer 1 year warranty
  • Remote control
Setting up the Sony Handycam was a breeze, pop in the battery; open the side screen and go! The main features of the Sony Handycam were simply amazing:

  • The built in projector allows us to instantly create our own home movie theatre with the simple push of a button. Choose which video you have recorded and would like to play, touch the projector button and point your camera toward a wall you’d like to show your movie on. The picture is crystal clear and the sound is crisp.

  • Low-light: Record amazing quality videos even in less-than-best lighting conditions. Our house is low-lit most of the time and pictures usually come out pretty terrible unless you have a good camera with a flash. Well, not with the Sony Handycam. I shot a couple of videos in the evening of our dogs doing their tricks for treats and I can honestly say the quality is stellar.

  • Optical SteadyShot™ with Active Mode: Probably my favourite feature so far on this video camera. I am the worst person for making shaky videos. I can’t hold a camera straight so I always need some kind of anti-shake mode, even on a camera just taking still images. This is great because not only do you get stellar quality HD videos but you get them without the shakiness of a nervous or tired hand.

  • The Wide Angle Lense and Zoom is great because the more you capture, the more you cherish right? It allows you to capture everything in one shot and not have to worry about missing a thing.
Overall I think that the Sony Handycam earned its name honestly. It’s sleek and light weight, easy to hold especially with the adjustable hand strap which also encases a built-in usb. Everything is marked right on the camera so no guessing what symbols mean and which button does what. Aside from the main features, it has other great qualities like the rotatable touch screen which is very impressive; it’s quick and responsive when searching through videos and playback. The remote is handy when you are showing off videos on your TV using the included HDMI cable.

Now as fun as shooting videos with the Sony Handycam is, editing them is where it really begins. It’s simple to get your memories where you want them by first plugging the Sony Handycam directly to the USB port of your computer via the built-in USB cord. If the cord isn’t long enough it comes with an extension but we didn’t need to use it.

Once your computer installs the required drivers you can install Sony Play Memories Home software directly from the camcorder which organizes all your photos and videos on your computer for you by date, and allows you to edit and share your videos as well.

If you are like me and take a bunch of mini-clips, it’s simple to combine them all together and make one video from them, save them and share them! The quality of the videos is amazing even after converting them, just check out the first video we made with the Sony HandyCam below!

This is a definite must-have for anybody looking for a simple yet quality camcorder to capture your most precious moments with. For more information about Sony Handycam please visit www.store.sony.ca/HandyCam

Although the official Disney Share the Magical Memories contest has come to an end you can still enter daily until September 20th, 2012 for your chance at weekly draws with prizes like a Sony Handycam camcorder and a Disney shopping card! For more information, rules and to enter visit www.disney.com/memories!

Disclosure: I am participating as a Sony Canada Ambassador with PTPA. We received a loaned product for review purposes however compensation was received as a thank you for our work. Information about the Sony Handycam provided by Sony Canada. Opinions and comments on this blog are those of AME.

Ah BBQ season is in the air, spending time outside together cooking up some tasty eats right on our own BBQ in our own back yard with good company to top it off - this my friends is THE perfect summer afternoon for us.

We always love a good BBQ dinner and one of our fav foods to prepare on the grill are Sausages. Not your typical hot dog wiener, heftier and fuller - yummy beyond words. Fletcher's Sausages bring BBQing to an all new level of delicious.

Fletcher's Fine Foods newly launched Smoked Sausages are the ultimate tasting part of an indulgent, fun family meal. These delicious, juicy smokies have a satisfying snap when you first bite into them, just like the perfect sausage should! Fletcher's Smoked Sausages are vacuum sealed with six smokies per pack which makes it easier to buy buns to go with them. Don't you hate being left with too many sausages and not enough buns to go around? They are also the perfect bun length and fit neatly into your favourite sausage buns!

Fletcher's Smoked Sausages come in four bold flavours including Smokie Lover, Cheddar Obsession, Sweet Victory and Picante Passion.

We enjoyed the Sweet Victory flavour over the weekend, they did not disappoint! They are very flavourful and very filling, our daughter said she wanted two at first but really could only finish one with a side of cut veggies! A hit all around, Fletcher's Smoked Sausages are an instant summer favourite!

You can find Fletcher's Smoked Sausages at Metro, Walmart, and Giant Tigers across Ontario.

Fletcher's Fine Foods is having an online contest! Now until August 15th, visit www.smokielover.ca and enter for a chance to win a grilling session with celebrity chef Rodney Bowers, a Napoleon BBQ and Fletcher's Smoked Sausages! You can purchase Fletcher's Smoked Sausages for an extra five entries in the contest or share from the website on your favourite social media networks for one extra entry!

They say any man can be a father but it takes a special kind of man to be a Dad. I believe this to be true. Whether you are a Grandfather, a dad, an adopted dad, a step dad or one of two dad's - this is your day to celebrate being you and all of the wonderful things that you do not only for your children each and every day but for your whole family.

How are you spending Father's Day? A relaxing breakfast in bed followed by an even more relaxing day of luxury and being spoiled by the family? Or maybe your idea of the perfect fathers day is spending some alone time doing your guy thing? We always tend to celebrate occasions like Father's Day and Mother's Day as a family and include the kids in the celebrations too of course. This year the weather has turned out to be beyond nice so I believe this calls for a back yard family BBQ!

We hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day filled with joyous memories to last, no matter how you celebrate!

To the man our children call Daddy, we love you from the bottom of our hearts - Happy Father's Day!

It arrived shortly after I posted the teaser, my Lancome Luxe Box by Loose Button! I recognized the Loose Button box right away when the delivery guy handed it to me and I couldn't wait to dig in and see what was chosen for this exclusive beauty box!

This special Lancome Luxe Box was hand selected by the Loose Button team and Lancome Official Video Makeup artist, Michelle Phan!

Inside the box we get a Lancome Luxe Box card with information about the products included inside and also a reminder about Michelle Phan's special personal appearance at The Bay Yorkdale in Toronto, June 21st! Actually one blogger can win a special invite to this event but I won't be participating because I'm not from the GTA, unfortunately.

Now, back to the Lancome Luxe Box itself - The contents of the box is wrapped in delicate Lancome tissue paper with a special Lancome sticker. Inside my box I received some amazing products but I can't tell you exactly what they are, it would totally ruin it and I want this to be a surprise! I will however give you all a hint: They have to do with eyes, lips and taking it all off.

For information about Loose Button's new changes please see our post "A Loose Button Surprise"!

If you have been following me on Twitter for any amount of time you may or may not have noticed my Tweets about one of my favourite fast-foods, poutine!  Growing up in Quebec, poutine was a typical side-dish to many meals or great even on its own.

When it comes to my poutine I like it basic; Cheese curds, good (not to salty) gravy and of course nice sized french fries and I have never been particular in having extras such as meat or vegetables in my poutine but we won't ever say no to giving something new a try!

New York Fries introduces a new twist on poutine with their Pulled Pork Poutine. This new flavour features a yummy pulled pork topping that can be best described as spicy, smokey and savory served over NYF fresh cut fries and Quebec cheese curds. Is your mouth watering yet?

A series of fun radio spots featuring Canadian acting legend Gordon Pinsent sharing his thoughts about New York Fries Pulled Pork Poutine (and his musings about cowboy chaps) with be airing over the next three weeks. You can take a listen on the New York Fries website

We were invited to try out New York Fries new Pulled Pork Poutine for ourselves. Hubby went out and brought home some NYF take out for me and him one evening. We enjoyed the Pulled Pork and the Butter Chicken poutines!

Being spicy, I knew this would be a hit with hubby. He absolutely LOVES poutine, probably more than I do (which is a lot) so this was something new to him and he had no complaints. If you are already a New York Fries fan and like spice and flavour in your poutine, this is something you should definitely try out for yourself.

The Butter Chicken is not spicy, for those who do not like spicy food it is a nice change from the every day with generous amounts of chicken in a light sauce over NYF cut fries! Very filling that's for sure, I couldn't even finish mine! It was enjoyable but not something I would make a constant in my diet. I have to honestly say I prefer my plain old fashioned poutine, NYF does make a great old fashioned poutine too!

Another flavour available in the Poutine Perfected line-up is Braised Beef poutine, maybe hubby will try out that one on our next visit!

Over all if you aren't shy to try something new New York Fries new Pulled Pork Poutine is definitely something different for the taste buds. For more information about New York Fries please visit www.NewYorkFries.com

Costumes aren't just for Halloween anymore. Many people host themed costume parties where everybody dresses up, and not just the kids. You may think one of two things upon costume shopping out of season, it will be hard to find a good costume and it will cost a lot considering it isn't Halloween time. That's where you are wrong my friend. The Internet is full of fun and exciting things including online costume shops like Anytime Costumes!
Anytime Costumes has a wide variety of costumes for everyone in the family from baby to kids and adult costumes, they even have themed costumes for couples! Now, the only person in our house who did not have a costume to wear, be it to a costume party or out for Halloween later on this year, was my hubby.

We had the opportunity to take a look at the men's costumes at Anytime Costumes. There were so many awesome men's costumes to choose from like super heroes to famous TV characters, just about any costume you can think of. If you don't have an idea, you're sure to find one just by browsing around the hundreds of costumes available.

We decided to take a look at something traditional, something most people are familiar with - the men's Zombie Ghost Face costume aka "The Scream Ghost". This costume comes with the mask, hooded robe and belt and is a licensed costume. We did not get the fake knife to go with it, as fun as it looks it may be a little overwhelming for younger kids while out with the family.

The mask is made up of rubber and has material around the bottom so you can hide your neck once you put on the robe. Hubby is 5'11 and this costume fits him quite well. The robe is light weight so if you wear it in cooler weather you might want to put a sweater under. The length is good on the arms which is usually a problem we have with one size fits all. The great part about this costume is that the mask is not attached to the robe so you can always mix and match and reuse the costume for more than one costume party. This costume is currently priced at $27.99 on the website, one of the less expensive but just as good quality costumes available.

He was a good sport ;-)

This year whether we attend a costume party, halloween party or just go out trick-or-treating with the kids, we will all be prepared with fun costumes thanks to Anytime Costumes!

In case you hadn't noticed, AME was long over due for face lift. As proud as I was being capable of coming up with a quick makeshift banner, button and generic layout for the blog - it seriously needed a professional touch. Design is not my niche and I am totally confused when it comes to HTML other than a simple copy and paste the code. You could probably tell by the giant social media buttons I had on the left side before - I admit it, they were ugly.

AME has been around for three years and not much had changed, it was time for a serious overhaul!

Being part of a fantastic and helpful blogging group CBN means knowing some fantastic friends and that's where Jodi from Rants Designs came to my rescue! I noticed she had mentioned she did blog designs on top of running her blog RantsnRascals and I started seriously thinking it was time for a change. Initially only had questions but she had a vision for AME. The changes happened literally over the weekend and I couldn't be happier with the results. She changed up everything from top to bottom and even created something for the Facebook fanpage (coming soon).

What brought me to Jodi (besides being the awesome person that she is) was the work she does. I have seen the magic she can make with fellow bloggers blogs, banners, buttons, media kits, facebook pages and so on, all the important aspects we as bloggers need to make sure is shiny and new to attract you lovely readers - and represent our brands in a professional atmosphere.

If you are a blogger or own a website and need someone reliable to design you an awesome template and more that will suit both your personality and your blog, visit Rants Designs website to check out the samples they have on site.

Thank you once again Jodi for all your hard work putting together this amazing new look for AME!

You can find Jodi on Twitter @rantsnrascals!

Today you can save your precious memories onto just about any device, make multiple copies and not worry about storage space. Remember the days when we relied on VHS cassette tapes to store our precious memories on? They were bulky, took up space on shelves or in drawers and often would be damaged quite easily - especially if you had one of those machines that would "eat tapes" or worse accidentally taped over it with something else!

PTPA Award Winner, Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus by Corel is the solution to all those old VHS tapes you have lurking around containing memories that you could still cherish today - in the digital age.

For anybody who has old VHS tapes, Hi8 or V8 tapes Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus makes it easy to save and share your memories in today's digital formats. You can burn a DVD, share on websites like YouTube or Facebook and also save them to mobile smart devices like an iPhone!

It's simple to begin transferring those old memories into the digital age by plugging your video camera or VHS machine into your computer using the provided USB Capture and letting Roxio's software guide you through it all step by step.

We have used Roxio software before in the past, when they first came out with CD and DVD burning software so I was interested to see how they have come along over time with this new software.

Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus has some great features to make converting your videos simple including:
  • Conversion for play on the latest mobile technology including iPad, iPhone and Android tablet.
  • Create a home-DVD in a few simple clicks
  • Split larger videos and record on multiple DVDs
  • Trim and cut clips, add titles, credits and add transition effects between videos
  • Stabilize those shaky videos and remove that annoying background noise
  • Add music and sound effects
  • Create disk labels and DVD case inserts
  • Share with the world via YouTube and Facebook and more!

Now, we don't have any memories like wedding or babyshower videos on VHS because by the time we had our kids there were digital cameras but hubby does have a bunch of VHS videos from before we met. Videos like a trip to Toronto or the time his Camaro was on TV! Memories he wants to keep to show the kids one day, maybe. Either way it was great being able to try out Corel Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus and save those memories forever!

Having a new baby is an exciting time in any families life. As a parent you only want the best for them and this includes safety. You have to think about precautions like baby proofing your home before your baby grows from crawler and grabber to toddling toddler.

When we were first-time parents I read a lot about parenting in the first year of babies life and let me tell you - what those books described wasn't nearly as busy as what we experienced with our first child, our daughter. When babies learn to crawl and eventually stand up and shuffle across furniture they tend to get into everything imaginable. When they realize what the stairs are they wonder what is up there and we worry about them tumbling down.

It literally takes seconds for a curious baby/young child to get into something they aren't supposed to or somewhere they aren't supposed to be. This is both scary and dangerous, it's better to be prepared than end up in a bad situation. With summer just around the corner, you'll want to make sure everything is secure; just in case.

If you don't know where to start when it comes to baby proofing your home Kiddie Proofers can help! Kiddie Proofers are a Toronto-based company who specialize in providing families with help safety proofing their home for over 20 years. Kiddie Proofers offers a home consultation where they help with any safety concerns and educate on accident prevention and child safety. They can help create the ideal kiddie proofing plan for your home and family.

Experience means know-how and that is what Kiddie Proofers have when it comes to making sure all your baby proofing gear is set up properly.

It's better to have peace of mind knowing your family is safe and everything is securely installed by a professional kiddie proofer. If you live in the Toronto area, this is a great service to look into!

Snacking, who doesn't enjoy it? Unfortunately with snacking may come added calories when we tend to reach for the delicious but not so nutritious afternoon indulgence. Kellogg's Special K Cracker Chips are a great new way to satisfy that afternoon snack craving without the added guilt. At only 80 calories per 18 chips, this crunchy snack tastes great and helps you stay on track. Kellogg's Special K Cracker Chips come in three yummy flavours including Original, Cheddar and Sour Cream & Onion.

Kellogg's Special K Cracker Chips are a crispy blend of potato and rice and lightly seasoned. They are trans-fat free, low in saturated fat and have no artificial flavours or colours. They are also nut-free so they are great to send along as a healthy snack for school too!

Being part of the Canadian Kellogger's we received a package containing a box of each flavour of new Special K Cracker Chips. I really enjoyed them as they are light, crispy and not too crunchy with just the right amount of flavour. Out of the three my favourite were the Sour Cream & Onion, I just about finished off the box before anybody else got to try that one.

If you are looking for a quick, healthy snack - look no further than your local grocers for new Kellogg's Special K Cracker Chips.

In case you didn't see my entire twitter feed from this past Saturday, I thought I'd write a post to let you know - hubby and I are expecting!

For the past several weeks I haven't been feeling myself. At the beginning of May I had what I thought was a flu and since have felt a little bit off-ish. Talking to friends and family, a few mentioned I could be pregnant. I typically laugh these comments off as jokes and don't worry about it but this time it had me thinking.

When I realized my "monthly visitor" hadn't come yet mid way through May, I knew I had to think about taking a test. I waited though, until the end of the month - just in case. June 1st we went out and bought a test, two in fact. Considering at this point I just wanted to know I took it right away. I was either pregnant or going crazy.

The test said you had to wait two minutes for a result, in my case it took seconds for the little plus sign to show up in the round area and the single vertical line in the oval which means - positive!

Besides the typical symptoms, signs were all around me though. I have been noticing baby stuff more and more. Commercials, on twitter and everywhere it seems. I have baby stuff put away in a bag, I was going to give it to one of two people I knew was pregnant but something made me hesitate. My excuse was that I couldn't decide between the two. Funny how I would suddenly end up with these things I normally wouldn't need right now, but I will.

We called family the next day to let them know as it was quite late when we did the first test and were a bit excited. I thought it would be fun to announce it on twitter after and then facebook to let everyone know. Thanks everyone for your congratulation tweets and facebook messages :)

When we told our daughter, she squealed with delight at the thought of another younger sibling. Little guy doesn't seem to understand quite yet what we mean by "mommy has a baby in her belly" as he replies with "No Mommy, I'm your baby!". I think he will understand more down the road as things progress.

According to a due date calculator the baby should be born in January 2013 which makes me approximately six or so weeks pregnant. It's still early to be announcing I guess but we were thrilled when we found out and wanted to share our excitement. There is so much to start planning from things we will need to making room for the things we will need, it's going to be quite the ride!

Our next step is to book a Dr's appointment with my family Dr and get an ultrasound appointment as soon as we can. Oh and I'm also going to have to shop for a summer wardrobe, maternity style!

Although unexpected, we are nonetheless thrilled about our news and can't wait to start sharing the journey with all of you!
