Spring time means nicer weather and more smoothies for the drinking! Mornings can be a rush around here and there is nothing easier plus healthier than a morning shake as part of your daily start.

Whenever I take the blender out to make a smoothie or a shake, my kids automatically ask me if they can have one too. Of course they usually want it to be chocolate-ice cream style but I've influenced them to take a liking to ND shakes.

Ever since being introduced to Orange Naturals, it's easier to get my kids to enjoy shakes that are actually healthier for them.
One of our favourite and probably easiest to make (you can usually find the ingredients year round at any grocery store) is a good Banana Strawberry ND Shake.

- Cut up and store your bananas and strawberries and place in a container in the freezer the night before. The colder your ingredients, the better your smoothie.

- Add in a cup of milk (chocolate, soy, almond, whatever kind you like) and a few tablespoons (to your liking) of plain yogurt in your blender. We tried it using other kinds like strawberry or raspberry which are good too.

- Add in your frozen fruit and measured amounts of Orange Naturals ND Shake (for kids, women and men) and pulse blend.

Pour into cups and your good to go. You could even make this at night and put the whole thing in the freezer for easy grab and go the next morning.

Okay, so maybe you may not classify this as an "ultimate smoothie" but it's a sure winner in our household!

  11. My idea of an ultimate smoothie is one that has the benefits of veggies (especially ones that I would not necessarily eat on its own) but the taste of delicious fruitiness from the fruits. I would love for that smoothie to be very filling too! I have never tried Orange Naturals.. but would love to ;) - Jenn
