My kids are super kids. From the smiles they give to make someone feel better to the honest kindness they have when they give us drawings they worked so hard to make, our kids are super kids.

They don't have to do anything that makes the local paper or go viral online to be super kids. Just being themselves, being kind, giving and never forgetting to be themselves above all else makes them super. There are many ways in this world that you can be super, everyday.

This is the year to #BeSuper! Barbie has invited kids from across Canada to tap into their own inner superheroes and use their imaginations to show how they are super! We all know one small act can make a big difference and with some imagination and determination, every kid can prove that anything is possible. Here are some great tips to help you and your little ones be super!

Be Kind.

As parents, we all want to teach our children how to be kind to others and the best way to do so is leading by example. You will always be their #1 superhero. Super Squad leader Noemie from our own Ottawa, Ontario set a great example with her "Happy Hearts" fashion charity which raises money through silent auction and a fashion show. She raised nearly $15000 for CHEO.

Be Bold.

Give your kids the opportunity to set their own path and make their own decisions. Help empower leadership, let them be bold and realize that anything is possible when they put their minds to it. For example Super Squad leader Veronika from Surrey, BC recycled juice boxes from her school and used the money raised to give wheelchairs to 60 people in Guatemala.

Be Creative.

Creativity is essential in helping your child reach their peak power potential. Imaginative play is a great way to get that creativity flowing, the sillier the better! Have a crazy dress up party or how about some kooky crafts! The possibilities are endless. Super Squad leader Mya from Stettler, Alberta used her creativity to create a fun program that uses stickers to reward healthy eating called "Lunch Apeel". She went across Canada to spread the word about her program and empower other kids to use their creativity and be super!

For even more tips, join the Barbie Super Squad by visiting www.BeSuper.com. It's easy to get started and it's free to join!

As a member you get access to the downloadable Super Squad handbook which has tips and super monthly missions. Completing monthly missions means your little ones can earn badges and also be entered into contests to win cool prizes like a custom mini-movie to tell the world how awesome they are and product prize packs!

SuperDuper_K signed up and ready for superhero duties!
Something fun for you and your little ones to sit down and do together. We had fun coming up with a good superhero name for my daughter SuperDuper_K! For this month's mission she said kindness is an everyday thing. She will continue to be kind to her siblings, friends and help those who may need a hand.

We will have to go back next month to complete another mission and get a new badge but in the meantime the website offers all kinds of fun things like videos, games, comic strips and much more!

Have you seen the Barbie #BeSuper exclusive apparel and accessories available at Walmart? Your little one can look as super as she can be with Barbie in Princess Power exclusive tops (some with a cape on the back!), bottoms, pj's and accessories like umbrellas, sunglasses and hats! Visit walmart.ca/Barbie to see the whole collection!
