Adventure is fun at any age. From make-believe back yard missions to travelling abroad, engaging in an exciting activity offers us all a sense of thrill and joy! New experiences also bring us the opportunity to try something new and bond with loved ones.

Summer may almost be over but there is always room to learn and explore with your little one. Here are some fun tips to help create new, memorable experiences with your kids!

Get creative!

You can help make everlasting memories by using your imagination and getting creative. When my son and I play with his play sets like Thomas & Friends, we use our imaginations, create stories and scenarios. That's the fun of make-believe, letting your little ones creativity and imagination be the guide. When the kids are older, they'll remember these special times.

All aboard!

Everything is better when you have your best friend along for the ride. Like Thomas & Friends, encourage your little one to bring a friend (even their imaginary ones) along for the fun. Together you can create memories to last a lifetime.

Be Silly!

Silliness is part of the fun of make-believe. When the kids go on a silly adventure, go along with them. They're always thrilled when mom or dad participate plus it'll make it all the more enjoyable for both of you!

Embrace the outdoors!

Getting outside during the summer is what being Canadian is all about! We only have a few short months of sunny summer weather to enjoy so we should embrace it while we can. Encouraging our kids to have outdoor adventures opens up a whole new world of exploring!

No matter the activity, it's always something to remember! Planning ahead with these tips and bringing a friend like Thomas along is sure to make lasting memories for years to come!

  1. When one of my sisters was a little girl, she loved Thomas...very much. But when he would come through that tunnel boy, it freaked her RIGHT OUT into a panic :)) I remember my mom laughing all the time "Calm down, it's OK! It's Thomas!" Haha.

  7. My boy was totally hooked on Thomas starting at 2. We accumulated a lot of track and engines over the years....his original wooden Thomas traveled everywhere with him, so much so that there is barely any blue paint on it anymore. That was 15 yrs ago.....so many great memories. Wish we still had that entire collection for my girl, but we passed it on to another little boy who had the same fondness for Thomas. Kicking myself for that now as my girl really likes Thomas too....

  18. We had an awesome adventure at 6 Flags theme park in California when our daughter was 2 years old - we took her to Thomas Town in the park to ride the train and go through the town where we saw the different characters. She loved it, it was a highlight for sure! Sadly they don't have Thomas Towns at 6 Flags anymore - they have changed them over to a generic train theme, so our youngest won't get to experience Thomas Town next time we visit California.
