Valentine's Day is right around the corner and if you're like me you may be looking forward to staying in with your better half and having your own romantic date night at home.

Staying in is the new "date night" - in a recent survey, 77% say they watch Netflix together because they like spending time together without leaving home. 51% of couples said they bond over shows together.

While hubby and I may not always have the same taste in what we watch, we can agree that staying in is the way to go. It is nice to get out and have a romantic dinner but when in our budget do we normally have this? Very rare. Plus, finding a reliable babysitter for three kids (plus our dogs!) on a day like Valentine's Day is next to impossible. It's hard enough to get them to stay in bed on a regular night, never mind having a babysitter try to succeed!

Valentine's Day is what you make it so get out the heart shaped candy, pop some popcorn and settle down for some serious romance with your sweetheart right at home.

Bring on the #SHOWMANCE with Netflix! Here are 5 great romantic movies to get your night started!

Valentine's Day is a great movie - the title says it all. The movie follows different characters on Valentine's Day. I haven't seen it yet but it's got a lot of great actors so it's bound to be a pleaser!

Who can say no to a Cinderella fairytale orphan-girl-meets-prince love story? We all loved Drew Barrymore in Ever After - A Cinderella Story.

You may need tissues for P.S. I Love You. A story about love, loss and about remembering when a grieving widow learns her recently passed husband left a series of love notes behind to help her through the most difficult times.

Not as tear inducing as the previous movie, The Vow still brings a great romantic story of a couple facing the worst when a young woman (Rachel McAdams) wakes up from a car accident with amnesia and her devoted husband (Channing Tatum) does everything in his power to help her recover and win her back.

Who can forget everyone's favourite history-based romance movie - Titanic. We all know how the story goes - poor boy meets rich girl, falls in love amidst tragedy. It's a long movie but a good one if you are one of the very few people in the world who hasn't seen it.

These are just some of the great movie titles available on Netflix this Valentine's Day! What's your favourite romantic movie?
