Mid-winter, most of us don't even want to think about shaving our legs. It's time consuming and honestly only useful if we are wearing pretty spring or summer dresses, capris pants or shorts. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and maybe a date night with your special someone is reason enough to want to pamper yourself just a little, even if you are going to have a date night at home.

Now, don't let winter skin ruin your look (or your fun)! Get ready to show off with these great tips from P&G!

- Prep skin properly and banish goosebumps before shaving: When it comes to shaving, ensuring hair is hydrated properly before is key because it will make it easier to cut. Goosebumps also create an uneven surface, which makes it more difficult to get a smooth shave. The ideal amount of time to let hair soak up water and let your skin warm up before shaving is 5 minutes. You can get away with 1 or two minutes if you're in a hurry like I am half the time because I share one bathroom with four other people!

- Help your skin stay smooth: When every minute counts, multitasking products can make all the difference - especially once that can help skin stay soft through the harsh winter elements. Reach for a razor that gives you a close shave. If you're looking for some smooth skin and sleek legs, use the Venus Swirl Razor.

- Score a healthy glow: A spray tan or self-tanning lotion is a quick and easy way to get glowing when the sun is nowhere in sight! Shaving with a razor like Venus Swirl right before you apply self-tanner can help because it gently exfoliates the skin and you want the surface to be as even as possible to avoid streaks or dark patches.

Add these simple tips to your Valentine's Day beauty routine and you will be ready for a well-deserved date!

We love eating potato chips, cheesies, and other bagged goodies in our house from time to time but what I don't love is when someone doesn't close the chip bag properly and they go stale quickly. What a waste.

I usually buy chip clips at the dollar store but my last one broke on me and hubby kept forgetting to go get more.

Make your own chip clips! Hubby came up with this when he bought a bunch of chips and once again forgot the clips, why didn't I think of this??

When you buy kids clothes sometimes they come on hangers with clips at the end. Not every store removes hangers so the ones we have we use to hang the kids clothes here at home. We always end up with a collection.

Take a good pair of clippers (ones that can cut through thick plastic) and cut the clips off the hangers.

Voila! DIY Chip Clips! I'm sure you could find other various uses for these too like paper clips, wire clips to keep things organized etc. The list goes on. They don't cost anything to make and if they break it's not that big a deal! :)

We are almost finished the first month of a new year and also half way through winter, if I might add. The winter months always seem so long to me. Maybe it's the lack of being outdoors or when we are outdoors, the lack of sunshine. I don't like that "cold in my bones" feeling, it makes me want to say Goodbye January!

Despite it still being a cold month, I have always liked February. It's more of a light-hearted month, with Valentine's Day approaching and all. I don't drive but I will. After years of excuses and reasons why I can't drive, I have made a goal for myself and have decided to start looking into going for my driver's license. Wow, that's a scary thing to write but also exciting. It's going to be a whole new world for our family.

To many, this might not be that big a deal. Hundreds of people do this every day and who am I? I am a mom of three who has taken the bus or relied on somebody else to get me from point a to point b and I'm tired of it. I know, hubby doesn't mind taking us here and there but he has a life too! He has obligations outside the family just like I do, work to do and places to be. We both can't always be at the same place at the same time and I think it'll be better for everyone having two adults with driver's licenses in hand.

Don't get me wrong, there is no shame in not having a driver's license for whatever reason, but for me personally, the more I'm thinking about it the more I want to do this. I want to be able to take my kids somewhere without having to work around someone else's schedule or be able to give my hubby a break from running here, there and everywhere for everyone.

This won't be quick, it won't be easy and it definitely won't be painless (I have some saving to do because frankly, I will need to take a course) but I can do it. I know I can do it. I have support and motivation, now all I need to do is get the next steps taken which is to study my butt off and take that G1 test by spring or summer so I can take the course by maybe fall.

I even already have the most recent Ontario drivers hand book, this will be my reading material for the next while.

So, here we go taking the first steps in a big way. Wish me luck!

This time next year I could be driving! :-D

Keeping a fairly healthy diet is always one of my annual goals. I, like anyone else enjoy a good greasy burger and side of salty fries sometimes but overall I try to stay #OnMyPath and make healthier food choices, especially for the most important meal of the day, breakfast.

As a mom and someone who more or less doesn't mind being in the kitchen, I always love finding out about new recipes to try here at home that are both flavourful and healthy. Breakfast ideas are ALWAYS welcome. With a family of five, we want to make sure everyone gets out the door after a good breakfast, even if it's quick or "on-the-go".

To help get the day started on a healthy note, I would like to share this healthy breakfast (or snack) idea from Nature's Path with you!

Healthy Coconut Chia Tropical Smoothie Bowl:

I am a P&Gmom/mamanP&G Ambassador. As part of my affiliation with this group I receive products and special access to P&G events and opportunities. The opinions on this blog are always my own.

You're only as old as you let people believe.

*Gasp* Those three kids over there are actually mine! Unless one was to absurdly think I had my kids REALLY young, their ages usually give away the fact I am indeed almost half way through my 30's. I am not afraid to tell people my age, I'm not defined by the number that is on my birth certificate and I don't think I ever will be. I am defined by the life I live, the vitality my children give me and the love for a brand new day. I still have a lot of "joy de vivre" left in me that can help keep me feeling 30-something, at least some days.

Although quite cliche to say, age is actually just a number.

Did you know that Canadian women no longer feel defined by their chronological age? In fact, 90 per cent even believe age will become less relevant as the years go on.

In December, Olay unveiled their Ageless program - an initiative that explores how Canadian women and their counterparts around the globe think about aging and expectations when it comes to beauty.

Olay is encouraging women to share their own age 'giveaways' like having a teenager or the type of dance style you have, based on videos like the following "Teenager". Take a look:

So, what gives you away? The type of music you listen to (you know, the kind that makes your kids flinch and give you that "you're from another planet" look) or maybe it's your style (there's nothing wrong with those leopard print pants!)?

Let that be the only thing, be ageless with Olay!

WIN IT!

Whatever your age 'give away' is, we want you to share it with us for your chance at an amazing Ageless Olay prize pack valued at $165* which includes:

  • NEW Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting EyeSwirl $38.49
  • NEW Regenerist Facial Cleansing Brush $33.49
  • Olay Micro-sculpting Scrub Cleanser $15.99
  • Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream $39.99
  • Olay regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum $39.99
Enter using the ballot below! *prize prices at discretion of the retailer*

Open to Canadian residents 18+ (excluding Quebec). Mandatory entry must be done for extras to count. Winner will be drawn at random using Giveaway Tools on January 30th, 2016

Representatives of P&G are providing the prize to the winner on AME's behalf. By entering, you accept your information will be shared with the representatives of this brand should you win. Winners must qualify with a valid email address by filling out a winners claim form with skill testing question. Winners have 48 hours to claim before prize is redrawn. Ever since I can remember, I've been taught to get my things ready for the next day, the night before. That way it's less hassle and stress for everyone first thing in the morning trying to get ready to go to school and work.

I've always been somewhat organized when it comes to that. It's rare I'm not ready to go, unless we spontaneously decide to go somewhere but I'm talking about everyday routine. When you know what needs to be done.

I've tried to teach my kids the same methods, we've been practicing since before they started elementary school. Get your clothes, school bag (and anything you need to bring in it), lunches, outdoor clothes etc ready the night before so that we aren't running around like cranky clowns the next morning.

My youngest doesn't count yet, she's not in school for another two years so I help her get ready but my older two are expected to be organized and ready to go in the mornings. They are almost 8 and 11 now.

Most mornings they're semi-organized, I'm proud of them. There are times someone forgets to do something or whatever and that's OK we are only human after all.

My boy is pretty good, he needs reminders after his shower in the evenings to get things ready but he does it. Most mornings he has his lunch in his bag and snow pants on even before he eats his breakfast. My oldest however is another story. I love her, she's smart and funny and an overall good kid but she can be so disorganized.

She will do everything else but get her things ready. I call her the procrastinator. The next morning guess what happens? She goes into a big panic trying to find pants, socks, her lunch bag or whatever else she didn't do the night before.

Part of me wants to be mean mom and say "oh well!" But then there's the soft mom in me that sees my little girl struggling so I tend to swoop in and help her get her stuff together as quickly as possible. I am just trying to teach them responsibility, with a little help. I know one day (soon) I won't be able to swoop in and save them.

Sometimes there are tears (mine) and pouting (hers). Sometimes we are even late getting out the door. All of this ends up happening before I even get to have my first cup of much needed coffee.

I think I've given her so many lectures I probably sound like Charlie Browns teacher to her (wah wah wah!) but they need to learn, right? She goes to Highschool next year which is why I think it bothers me so much when she's in a panic.

Even though we have our hard mornings, I will continue reminding them to get their stuff together in the evening. I'm hoping that eventually it becomes something of a habit for them. They'll thank me one day! :)

How do you keep your school aged kids organized without doing it all for them? Leave a comment below, let's chat!

Movie nights aren't just for kids, sometimes us adults need to watch something they just aren't allowed to! I love watching family movies and movies with my kids but sometimes we like to sit down and enjoy a good grown up movie alone together. Sometimes we pick a romantic-comedy, other times action or suspense but sometimes we like to watch a scary movie - even if it's not Halloween.

Imagine you and your family just move into a new house only to find it haunted by a force you can't explain and a force you can't escape. If you have seen any of the paranormal activity movies you know what I'm talking about. It's a scary thought!

In the most recent installment of the Paranormal Activity movie franchise Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension a new family moves into Katie and Kristi's former house. They discover a video camera that reveals the presence of an ancient evil that begins to terrorize them. Now, with their young daughter's soul in danger, they must fight back against this demonic threat before becoming its next victims.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension Blu-ray ($39.99US) and Blu-ray 3D ($52.99US) combo packs include three versions of the film, theatrical,  unrated cut plus an unrated cut with an alternate ending that wasn't shown in theaters.

Hubby and I always enjoy a good scary movie and this sounds like it won't disappoint. I love special effects and Paranormal Activity has plenty of it through its most dark and shocking moments. You can bring this movie home on January 12th, 2016. I know I am excited to add this to our movie collection!

Learn more about the movie by visiting www.paranormalactivity.com. Like the Paranormal Activity Facebook Page, follow @TweetYourScream on Twitter and Instagram!

It’s January, which means people are making New Year’s resolutions! Good for you, it’s great to have goals to look forward to!

There are smaller goals I'd like to achieve this year such as going to bed earlier/getting up before the kids, eating at normal hours, focus on my blog and things like that. I have a bad habit of not keeping most of my resolutions though. I am a creature of habit it seems. Maybe I should make a resolution to keep resolutions!

With Netflix Canada we can make simple resolutions and actually keep them. The best part is, there isn't much work involved. There are so many great shows and movies streaming this January, it’ll make you want to put your “to watch” list on a diet and make room for weeks of binge watching!

I have watched (and completed) a few series on Netflix, I'm also between shows waiting for new seasons of Orange Is The New Black and Wentworth to stream (I may re-watch these before this happens though). I also have so many more in my "to watch" list!

As bad as I am at keeping resolutions, I'm making a #NetflixResolution to watch shows on my "to watch list" like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Gilmore Girls" which are highly raved about by my mom and several of my followers across the web! Thanks everyone for your input!
So, tonight after the kids are in bed I will grab some snacks, put my feet up and start on my new resolution! :)

What do you want to watch this year? Share your #NetflixResolution with us on Facebook and Twitter!
