Now that both of my older kids go to school, they both have learned how to hand write. The oldest can write full pages (sometimes you can even read them!) while Little guy has just mastered his name this year.

Did you know that even with the advantages of technology, most parents will still agree that every child should learn how to hand write using a pencil and paper. Writing is an essential tool for learning and helps improve idea composition, expression, fine motor skills, critical thinking and emotional growth.

To help kids get on the right path to writing, BIC has a special line of writing tools specifically for smaller hands with new BIC Kids! The first and only line of writing instruments designed to help kids learn how to write. This collection includes BIC Kids Mechanical Pencils, BIC Kids Pens and BIC Kids Stylus. New BIC Kids offer a unique guiding line to help place little fingers properly, are ergonomically designed specifically for kids hands and work for both left or right handed writers.

I know school is out for summer but never too early to start collecting supplies for September and my kids are always colouring, writing or drawing in school or out of school. You can never have too many writing tools at our house. Writing and drawing are great ways to show creativity and let the imagination soar.

We were sent some of BIC products including the new BIC Kids collection to put to the test with our little ones. Here is what my oldest thought in their own writing:

My oldest is more into writing than her younger brother. She is always asking me to borrow pens and pencils, asking me if I have any spare note books she can use. She loves writing stories about her favourite things, she always adds drawings.

She said she finds the BIC Kids pens write easier, they don't get her fingers all messy with ink and they are easy to hold. Big thumbs up and definite recommendation for the next school year.

  1. I think that handwriting is definitely an important skill. I check out the BIC Kids website and I love the printables that they have available.
