It sometimes takes one idea, one movement in one community to bring everyone together and really make a difference. Our children and our youth are our tomorrow and our hope for our children is always a brighter future. They are the ones who will be the next Doctors, business people, politicians and police. They are the future but it is up to us to help pave the path and empower them to be the people they are meant to be. It's up to us to give them the knowledge they need for a brighter future.

#BrightWayForward by Tangerine Bank is a movement working with community organizations and initiatives that encourage important things like self-esteem, belonging and acceptance - things we all need to create a bright way forward for ourselves and others in this world.

At Tangerine Bank, it's about more than just educating Canadians about their finances and how to make it their money work for them. It's about empowering Canadians by giving people the confidence and skill they need to take positive action in their own lives.

Launched in Vancouver in 2009, Tangerine's Community Gym program is an extension of the #BrightWayForward philosophy, working with Canadian Youth to teach them about leadership, teamwork and confidence through half-day basketball and life skills events. Educating and involving our future leaders.

The Community Gym Program is taking place in three Canadian cities - Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal with a goal to inspire and empower more than 450 participating youth between the ages of 9 and 13. Check out this post about the Community Gym in Toronto, amazing.

It is always great to hear when companies like Tangerine Bank support local causes and do their part to help make a difference. Other #BrightWayForward events include the Tokens for Change in January, Foodshare recipe for change that happened Feb 26th in Toronto and also upcoming Park Build in Moncton this June.

Although we don't have Tangerine Banks here in Ottawa, it sounds like an amazing event to bring to our Nations Capital and I'm proud to be able to share the news from other cities with you!
