It's that time of year again, cold and flu season! In our house we were plagued with colds and flu's for over a month! Box after box of facial tissue to blow runny noses were used resulting in your typical red-nosed little ones.  Little guy especially often doesn't know how to properly blow his nose himself when sick. Everyone was starting to look as bad as they felt. Boogie Wipes to the rescue!

What are Boogie Wipes? Boogie Wipes are gentle, saline wipes for stuffy noses. Created by Little Busy Bodies LLC., Boogie Wipes replace your typical facial tissue when fighting off runny or stuffy noses with your little ones. They sooth and clean the area with ease, the tissue is soft and durable so little ones can help clean themselves up. Even soft enough to use on sensitive skin and they come in pleasant scents like Grape or Fresh Scent.

As a mom of two kids who ALWAYS seem to have a runny nose especially during the school year, I think Boogie Wipes are great because they are made especially for the face unlike other wet wipes. They are soft and soothing, they also help heal if the nose is already red from too much wiping. I also think that they are more hygienic than typical facial tissue because they are moist and come in a resealable package, canister or single wipes - easy for kids to use at home or on the go.

You can learn more out Boogie Wipes on their website, follow on Twitter and also Like Boogie Wipes on Facebook for the latest updates! Available at Toys R Us and Walmart among other store locations!

Hand bags can be a woman's best friend. They carry everything for us within arms reach, they act as a second set of hands to make life easier not to mention most of them can top off a nice outfit!

Being a mom, a bag is not just a fun accessory but also a necessity! You cannot go somewhere with babies or young kids without needing something you otherwise wouldn't carry on hand. Thus, we have the diaper tote. Diaper bags have been something that have been on my mind, being it only 8 weeks until we are due for baby girls arrival.

From experience, I like a bag that is multifunctional, lightweight and with plenty of room. I also like a bag that doesn't scream "Mommy!" our kids do enough of that!

The Ashley Tote from the Bumble Collection is the perfect tote for any mom who likes a roomy diaper bag! It's fashionable, it's well made and it can hold a whole lot of baby gear. This messenger/hobo style bag is made with water and stain resistant material that is also washable. It sports a long, adjustable  padded shoulder strap for easy carrying on the go. It has multiple pockets including two interior bottle pockets, two exterior pockets, wide pocket on the exterior, two pockets under the exterior flap (which closes by magnetic clasp), a main zipper pocket (purse area for the wallet maybe?) and two flat pockets to store diapers and wipes. It also features a soil proof changing pad inside, how convenient!

This PTPA winning bag is sure to help make any mom's life a little easier. With so much room, you may forget that you brought what you thought you'd forget to bring along!

Check out the entire Bumble Collection of bags including the different styles of Ashley Totes available on the website

We have been making our lists, checking them twice but did we remember one of the most important items to go with many of today's holiday gifts, batteries? There's nothing worse than your child (or you) getting a new toy or gadget and realizing it requires batteries which are not included. 43% of parents worry about so much about the gifts around the holidays, they forget to pick up that extra power they need for new toys under the tree. Not the most glamorous of gifts but you'd be surprised what the gadget girl or guy on your list may love to have in their stockings this year.

Around since as long as I can remember, Duracell is Canada's #1 trusted battery brand with parents. Duracell with Duralock power preserve technology will be there this holiday season to reliably power-up all of your memorable moments and holiday gifts.

Whether you're powering up a new remote control car or making sure the digital camera is ready for that close-up, Duracell has engineered all of their batteries with DuraLock, a new technology which preserves power for up to 10 years in storage. Right on time for the holidays, its guaranteed power when you need it!

With Copper top, Ultra Power and Rechargeable with Duralock batteries available, Duracell will help keep smiles on your family's faces long after the holidays and all year round! Always Canada's #1 trusted Copper-Top Battery!

Get your devices powered up in just one hour with the Duracell Quick Charger. The new energy Star-certified Duracell Quick Charger offers families a fast and compact way to keep their gadgets ready when needed. With a sleek, compact folding design, it is capable of charging four AA or AAA NiMH batteries from anywhere in the world (provided you have a correct travel outlet adapter of course). It can charge 2 AA batteries within an hour and includes two AA and two AAA batteries that can be charged hundreds of times over! Great for devices that require longer battery power like digital cameras, game console controllers, wireless keyboards and wireless mice etc. The Duracell Quick Charger can be purchased at most stores that carry Duracell for $24.99.

There's nothing worse than being somewhere and having your mobile device battery die on you. How are you supposed to charge it up without a wall outlet to plug it in to? With the Duracell Instant Charger, power on the go! A handy, portable power solution that allows you to charge a usb powered device on the go! Charge it up using your mobile devices wall adapter or plug it into a computer! It can give your devices up to 8 extra hours of power, I like the fact that its universal so whether your a Blackberry, an iPhone or a whatever else, you can charge up with Duracell Instant Charger! This portable device can be found at most stores that carry Duracell for $44.99.

Not only are Duracell bringing you the power your family needs for their new gadgets this holiday season but they are also participating in a new holiday initiative. In addition to donating batteries to power children's toys in children's hospitals across the country (six years in a row), from November 5th until December 31st for every new "like" on the Duracell Canada Facebook Page, Duracell will donate $1 to the Children's Miracle Network up to a total of $25,000CAD!

Take a minute and check out Duracell Canada's Facebook page and like it to help! Don't forget to share with your family and friends so we can help Duracell reach their goal and brighten the faces (and power toys) of even more children this holiday season!

Happy Powering!

Part of being pregnant is having fun letting the world know you have a little one on the way, I'm talking about custom maternity tops! A top made for the pregnant lady with a funny or witty custom print or logo on it. I saw one of these around Halloween time and I thought having one would be fun with holiday themed maternity prints.

I checked out cafepress.ca, an online shop known for having a variety of fun custom prints you can have printed on just about anything from t-shirts to mugs and they also offer maternity sized t-shirts! I have reviewed their tumbler cups, tank tops and laptop skins in the past.

There are many different designs to choose from, most of which are humorous  We have to have a sense of humour when we are expecting, right ladies? I decided to go with ones that of course fit my personality. "Future BlogStar" with an arrow pointing toward my bump and "Cookie in the Oven" with a gingerbread man across the belly!

I did order a large which fits a little big, perfect for the last couple of months of this pregnancy! If you're looking for a fun t-shirt for yourself or someone who's expecting, check out www.cafepress.ca to see what they have to offer!

Gift cards have become one of the most simple and convenient ways to gift give these days. There isn't really much work into purchasing a gift card - think up a store the one to be gifted would enjoy and go purchase a gift card in a reasonable amount for them! Instant present and a great addition to a festive greeting card!
CardSwap.ca is a great place to look if you want to give a gift card but avoid going to the store to buy one. CardSwap allows you to buy and sell gift cards on their website, you can also earn swap points at each transaction and eventually redeem them in for a gift card yourself! You win, win with CardSwap

I was invited to sign up and try CardSwap.ca for myself, being an online shopper I was quite interested to see how something like this would actually work. Sign up is free and simple, it only takes a few minutes and you're good to go.  You can search for the type of card you're looking to buy. CardSwap accepts debit, credit or PayPal as method of payment! If you've been using CardSwap and accumulate enough Swap Points you can redeem them for gift cards too! 1000 Swap Points gives you a $10 gift card, it's a start!

I suggest if you do see a gift card you would like to maybe purchase, add it to your wish list if you can't purchase it right away, it seems gift cards on CardSwap go pretty fast! CardSwap.ca makes it easy with 100% guaranteed transactions, FREE shipping and a great selection of gift cards for just about everyone on your holiday shopping list!

I decided to go with a practical card that we would use up easily and also be given as a gift this holiday season, a Tim Horton's gift card for $50. Trust me, it doesn't take long to spend $50 at Tim Horton's! It didn't take long to make the purchase either, following the instructions and I even earned 600 Swap Points for the purchase. If you happen to have an iPhone with the passbook app you can actually preload your gift cards purchased on CardSwap.ca right into your phone using the provided code when you get your physical card in the mail.

It took less than a week to get the card, not too much waiting and avoiding a busy store or in this case coffee shop is always preferred! As promised the Tim Horton's gift card I received was preloaded with $50 and ready to go! Very impressive service, I would most likely use again and recommend you try out too!

Get a gift card from a relative to a store you never shop? No problem, you can sell your gift cards on CardSwap too! Head over to the sell section and choose the merchant (store) your gift card comes from, input the amount of the cards worth and you should receive offers in no time! Send your gift card to CardSwap with their prepaid shipping label (provided by them) and then CardSwap will either send you a cheque or credit your account after your gift card is validated! You can use that toward a purchase for a card you'll actually use!

For more information and to check out all the different gift cards available please visit www.cardswap.ca! You can also follow @CardSwap on Twitter and Like the CardSwap Facebook page!

During the P&GMom event a couple of weeks ago we learned a thing or two about Pampers diapers. As a mom who has used (and will be using) disposable diapers, learning more about the brand and innovations behind the diaper was quite interesting. Pampers have been one of our favourite brands, especially for new born babies.

We heard from Pampers Scientific Communications specialist Dianna Kenneally. She spoke about Pampers diaper technology and innovations used to better Pampers over the years. She also showed us how diapers worked, how they test with parents and babies giving a realistic view with an understanding of what both mom and baby need in a disposable diaper.

During our P&G focus group we talked about Pampers "Gifts to Grow" program and how it works. In specially marked packages of Pampers diapers and training pants you can find Pampers gifts to grow points and redeem them online for access to great prizes from toys to accessories for your little one.

I am excited to tell you Pampers has a contest going on, starting today you can enter to win diapers for a year! Click here to visit the website for details, rules and to enter for your chance to win! Also, don't forget to show the love and 'like" Pampers on Facebook!

With so many things still on our list of things for our baby-to-be, one of them was of course a new baby monitor. Even experienced moms need a little help with a second set of ears and even eyes when the baby goes to bed. We had a baby monitor for each of our older children when they were babies, just your regular run of the mill radio monitor that would allow us to listen in on our little ones and make sure everything was OK while we were out of the room doing something else like say making bottles or preparing dinner etc. Unfortunately that old one ran on the old 2.4gHz range and we ended up picking up radio conversation from a local store, I believe they were talking about a skew of green pants. Pretty creepy to hear someone else come across your baby monitor! I am happy to say we have a good quality new one for this baby girl!

The Levana Era Wireless Video Baby Monitor is more than just a baby monitor. It allows you not only to listen in on baby but also see them (in daylight or with night vision) and reassure them that you are on your way to see them. Yes, it's a wireless video two-way radio baby monitor and probably one of the neatest I've seen since we used the regular kind years ago not to mention it runs on its own private network, no interference!

Features include:
  • ClearVu digital wireless technology for a 100% private, secure and interference free signal.
  • Temperature monitoring to ensure the room is perfect for baby.
  • Power-save mode video on/off will extend the handset battery 8 hours and beyond.
  • Sooth baby from another room with 3 programmed lullabies
  • Two-way intercom allows you to both talk to baby and listen in on baby to and from the nursery.
  • Three additional cameras can be added, viewed on a four way screen to see into multiple rooms at once.
The Levana Era baby monitor has a 2.4" LCD screen, nap and feeding timer, colour changing nightlight, time display, LED sound bar and stand with a belt clip to take the handset wherever you may go in the house.

The handheld monitor is light weight and the clip is sturdy when properly clipped onto your belt. It also has a little stand at the back to place it on a desk or table. The sound and video are crystal clear (despite what my picture shows, sorry), even in night vision mode. The camera captures a good chunk of the room to get a good view, it will be perfect for the baby's corner. The music is your typical baby music, light and soothing, songs you'll recognize. The two way-radio cuts the music when you press the button down to talk, that way baby only hears your voice. The music resumes once you release the button. It's fairly easy to figure out!

Much more advanced than our previous one-way radio wave audio baby monitor, The Levana Era baby monitor is just what families like us need to keep an eye on our new bundle of joy when she finally arrives.

The Levana Era baby monitor comes with the camera, handheld screen (including clip), two power adapters, rechargeable battery and instructions. You can find the Levana Era baby monitor and other great baby gear online at www.bestbuy.ca

We all know most girls like cute toys, and us mothers like cute toys that send a meaningful message to our young ladies. When it comes to toys for my daughter, she is a collector. She takes a liking to a kind of toy, usually one that has a significant meaning and she will collect several in the series before she moves on to her next enjoyment. As her mom I prefer her having a toy she will enjoy not only because "its popular" or "all the girls have one" but because it's something unique that she enjoys and sends a positive message to her for the most part.

Kids Preferred has launched a new type of toy for young girls, KimmiDoll Junior - offers a whole lot of cuteness for young girls everywhere! Not just a collectors doll, KimmiDoll Junior offers an important, child-friendly message that is easy to relate to and lasts a lifetime. The KimmiDoll Junior collection also includes creative activity sticker books, personal diaries, notebooks, pens, coin banks and coin purses! All are custom designed with the KimmiDoll logo and characters.

I thought these would be fun to take a look at, we have a couple of girls in the family and Kimmidoll Junior would make a great gift for them for Christmas coming up! Unfortunately I don't think you can buy them in stores here in Canada but you can buy them online at shops like amazon.ca which is always handy for those of us who enjoy online shopping like I do! We were sent a Kimmidoll Junior resin doll and a bobble head pen to take a look at. Kimmidoll Junior have friendly smiling faces, cute names and unique, meaningful message to go with them. They are made with a resin material so they aren't plastic but also not glass, still I would recommend these as a collectors doll and not something younger children should play with.

We received Leila who's message is "the best gift is to be a good friend", the same message my daughter tries to instill into her every day life by being the best friend she can be. The bobble head pens feature a Kimmidoll character and are small enough for children's hands to hold and write. They go well with the available journal or maybe pencil case! This will make a nice stocking stuffer or addition to our special girls gift this Christmas.

Thoughts of holiday gifts are flying through our minds as we seem to be speeding right through November! One major part of holiday gift giving in our family has always been traditional Christmas stockings filled with all kinds of goodies, including Lifesavers!

Lifesavers are celebrating 100 years of holiday cheers enjoyed by kids everywhere with their holiday Lifesaver books! I remember life savers coming in the single row size, we always had them in our stockings. I like the holiday books that come out every year because they are a great stocking stuffer or add-on to a gift! You can find them just about anywhere from the grocery store to Walmart.

Lifesavers have some great holiday stocking stuffer tips for you and your family this holiday season:
  • Create a new family tradition by adding ornaments to your kids stockings! Each year they can collect a new meaningful ornament and by the time they are old enough for their own tree decorating, they will already have a set from their childhood!
  • Think size, have one or two larger items in the stocking and place them at the top sticking out and stuff down to the bottom of the stocking to make most of space. Squeeze in 4 or 5 medium sized items to fill in space and the rest with 10 smaller items to make an impressive stuffed stocking!
  • Choose a gift that everyone will enjoy like the 100th anniversary Holiday Lifesavers Funbooks! Share the six rolls with family and friends or use them to play some fun holiday games with the kids!
  •  Use leftover holiday wrapping paper and try to individually wrap each stocking stuffer! Kids (and adults) always have fun unwrapping holiday surprises.
  • Be practical by adding an item that could be of use like a gift card to a favourite shop or coffee house, movie theater or food place. Keep in mind items that can come in handy like tooth brushes, special tooth paste, batteries or soap. You never know when someone will be thankful to have gotten that in their stocking from you!
The holidays aren't about what's in the gift, its always the thought that counts and holiday stockings to me are like the icing on the cake. They complete the gift giving and decor when you hang them full of goodies over the mantel for Christmas morning. The kids always seem to be so excited about their stockings before they see what Santa really brought them!

You can join in the fun of Lifesavers by Liking their Facebook page! For more information about Lifesavers candy please visit the Wrigley's website!

 Happy Holiday stocking stuffing!

Getting a good night's sleep is an important part of life from birth through adulthood, we all need our rest to properly function, grow and develop. We were blessed with early risers in our house and I'm not talking about hubby and I. The kids are up and at 'em as soon as it is light out whether it's 5am or 8am, they are ready to go when the sun is!

Of course my kids are a little older and understand that they aren't allowed to roam around the house early in the morning unless mommy or daddy are up to help them with whatever they need. Younger kids, not so much. Some get up before the sun rises and parents sometimes don't know what to do besides get up as early as they do to ensure they are taken care of.

It's almost next to impossible to sleep in at all when you have a young baby but when your child is at preschooler age or decides to give up naps, those moments you used to use for something productive can diminish before you know it. Sometimes parents just need their kids to sleep at least until the sun comes up in the morning or try to help convince them to nap a little longer - Sleep Buddy might be the answer!

The Sleep Buddy System was created to help young kids know what time is OK to get up and encouraging healthy sleep habits.  Teach your kids when to stay in bed. It's an easy to program sleep light (it also comes with a children's book "A bedtime surprise" and a rewards sticker chart!) to help kids into a good sleep routine.

Why SleepBuddy? The national sleep foundation suggests the #1 tip for children to have a good sleep routine is to start at night. A nightly routine allows your child enough time to relax and ease into a good nights sleep. Sleep Buddy helps do just that and was designed to help parents and children reach sleep pattern milestones!

You program Sleep Buddy through the bottom, no confusing clocks or time-teachers, this is a simple blue light for younger kids. While the timer runs the blue light stays on and when it shuts off, so does the light letting your kid know that it's time to get up now! Great to use over night or during nap times, for at home or even small daycare groups. What I like about Sleep Buddy is that it's simple. No images or bright colours that would make kids want to play with it or pull at it as it has to be plugged in in order to work.

PTPA award winning Sleep Buddy will help your child learn and help everyone get a good nights sleep! Follow @SleepBuddy on Twitter and Like SleepBuddy on Facebook for up to date news! For more information or to order yours visit www.sleepbuddy.com!

SleepBuddy helps, the rest is easy!

Sesame Street has been a part of my life since I was a little kid. It was my after-lunch, before nap television program that was always enjoyed. Those familiar characters we have all grown to love over the years now entertain and help educate my own kids. They are Sesame Street fans and have been since they were of age to enjoy preschool television. I like Sesame Street because it's not just a kids show, its a memory for us parents too. It's learning, it's fun, it's characters are friendly and loved by almost everyone.

One character in particular has always made my son smile and laugh, Elmo! Elmo represents today's preschooler with his cute voice and curious ways. He always knows how to help make someone feel better with his positive attitude and is always there for his friends, learning along the way.

There is just something about the furry red guy that makes you want to smile! One of our daughter's first gifts was the original "tickle me Elmo" toy years ago. It would be quiet in her room and then you would suddenly hear Elmo start chuckling and laughing hysterically because our daughter pressed his belly. It always made us start laughing too, we all know how contagious a young child's innocent laugh can be!

Elmo has come a long way since his debut back then with the all-new PTPA winning Playskool Sesame Street LOL Elmo! Elmo loves a fun, silly gigglefest and so will your preschooler, everyone will be LOLing with LOL Elmo! He laughs, tells jokes, and comes with his goldfish Dorothy in her fish bowl (watch what happens when you press it!)!

There are several ways to make LOL Elmo laugh like pressing his feet, tickling his tummy or squeeze Dorothy's fishbowl, the squeak sound gets him going every time! Even a silly sound your preschooler makes can get LOL Elmo into hysterics! LOL Elmo also tells silly jokes if you hold his foot. The more he's tickled, the more he laughs and wiggles! He's such a funny little monster, no wonder he is everybody's favourite!

LOL Elmo comes with batteries and his goldfish Dorothy. His fur is super soft compared to other Elmo's we have owned. He isn't too big for little hands to hug and he looks exactly as Elmo should! His voice isn't too loud, we had one particular Elmo who sounded like he was yelling all the time, the dogs didn't like it very much when the kids would play with him but this one I find is much quieter and appropriate for older toddlers, preschoolers and up!

Our little guy is four and still very much into shows like Sesame Street and Elmo's World too, so when he was introduced to LOL Elmo he said "I'm so HAPPY!" and wanted to open it up right away. He thought Elmo's laugh was just great especially when he got REALLY laughing. He has been carrying Elmo around since we took him out of the box, I think we can say he is a hit in our house!

Definitely a great gift to give the littlest Elmo fan in your house for sure, the holidays are not too far away! ;-)

As I mentioned this week, I headed off to Toronto on November 7th to attend a one-day P&GMom event with 40+ other moms/bloggers from across the country taking place November 8th! It was exciting just being chosen, I was looking forward to the overnight trip for weeks!

I had an afternoon flight and landed in Toronto on Wednesday, the flight was actually a few minutes early too - a bit of a plus! @AmberMurfy was there to greet me at the Four Seasons Hotel, what a ritzy place! Amber showed me to check-in and got me all set up in my room on the 14th floor! My room was AMAZING, very luxurious compared to what I have ever stayed in when it comes to hotels - we were extremely spoiled!

Walking into the hotel room felt like walking into a little apartment, minus a kitchen! Sliding glass doors near the entrance and also near the bed lead to a big bathroom. A deep bathtub with a shower head in the corner on one side, double sinks and mirrors with a TV inside on the other side. At the far end of the bathroom (yes it was big enough to have to say "far end") there were two separate glass windowed stalls. One for the toilet and one for a double headed shower! This has to be the most beautiful bathroom I have ever had the pleasure of using!

Of course the room had amenities like the mini bar (which I just looked and did not dare touch!), coffee maker (I did find the coffee a little too strong unfortunately), and a TV. There was also a little couch sitting area and a desk, oh the room also included an iPad to play around with if we wanted!

The best part though was what greeted me in the bathroom, a nice surprise gift basket from P&G! All kinds of neat travel products like razors, Charmin wet wipes, Puffs facial tissues, shampoo samples, conditioner samples, a really red lipstick, antiperspirant, toothbrush and paste - things like that in case we had forgotten any. I would like to say THANK YOU because I actually DID forget my antiperspirant at home and it wouldn't have been too pretty without it! Came in very handy! ;-)

I met up with @Orangeheromomma and @GingerMommy, we took a short walk before dinner. We met up with @ChancesMommy and got ready for our dinner at Terroni, the restaurant P&G were taking us out of towners to for dinner! We all met in the lobby which was really nice! I saw so many of my fellow bloggers like @nugglemama, @MomVsTheBoys, @MommyKatandKids, @MommyMomentBlog, @KidSumers and so many more (I'm sorry I was name dropping off the top of my head which is still spinning so if I missed you please leave me a comment and remind me!)

Dinner was very nice, they served a variety of foods from appetizer to desserts and of course the company was great! The word of the evening was "swanky!". I don't think I have had a dinner like that in a very long time, like before kids, long time.

After dinner (and a really yummy dessert) we headed back to the hotel for some shut eye. I talked to hubby on the phone to see how his day went with the munchkins. All was well at home and I was headed off to bed to rest up for another wonderful day as a P&GMom!

The next morning I was supposed to meet @GingerMommy in the lobby but I broke my suitcase zipper and by the time I got downstairs and checked out I couldn't find her :(. I ended up running into Jeannine, @MyBitsandBleeps and we headed off to registration together! I left my suitcase at the designated coat check that was set up!

We got lanyards with our name tags and a P&G Usb to start. Set up in the room next to the Brand Mall was the breakfast buffet area. Breakfast was a nice display of croissants, fruit, oatmeal and all kinds of other yummy things to start our day off nicely. I had a croissant, fruit and a yogurt along with grapefruit juice followed by coffee. I know, I could have had way more but I enjoy smaller meals instead of large "all at once" sittings.

I liked the intimate setting of the event, the main room was bright and really nicely set up with tables and a stage for P&G speakers. P&G had some of their products set up in the main room from Tide, Pampers and Oral-B. There were photographers around the room snapping our memories.

We got our food and sat down for the first part of our P&GMom day - welcome by P&G's Joyce Law followed by talks by Dianna Kenneally of Pampers about Mom-focused innovation and diaper technology. We also heard from guest speaker Priscilla Lopes-Schiep, Canadian Olympic Bronze Medalist and new mom about her feats as a new mom and athlete. Before break we heard from Dr Janet Tamo, Dentist about Oral-B and the importance of maintaining good oral health. That was followed by Life coach Caird Urquhart.

During the break we got a light snack and coffee, mingled a bit with fellow bloggers and headed back in for the mid-morning learning sessions. Momconomist workshop with Smart Cookies CEO - Sandra Hanna who gave some great tips for making the most of the household budget.

Lunch was served buffet style with veggies, salads, salmon and more! Dessert was a yummy parfait and fruit/chocolate pastry. After lunch we heard from Dr Suzette Middleton, Tide Scientific Communications about Tides innovations and technology. There was also a surprise guest, Canadian Olympic Medalist Christine Sinclair! She was there signing t-shirts, pictures and also taking photos with us! It was nice to meet her too!

The afternoon was spent in groups according to a little star sticker on our badges. I was in the red group with @kidsonaplane, @Preshusme, @InRDream, @MommyGearest and others which began in the P&G Beauty Experts room. We learned about makeup and hair from Covergirl, Pantene ProV and Clairol Colour Experts! We even got the chance to get our makeup and/or hair done. I went with a quick makeup touch up! The stylist tried a bright red lipstick on me, wow! I wasn't used to wearing that bright but some of the ladies said it looked great (thank you!).

After that we headed off to the P&G Product mall to talk to P&G Pr about different products ranging from Iams, Pampers, Duracell, Clairol and more! It was so nice to finally put some faces to familiar PR names I have been working with!

Focus group was next on the agenda for us, we sat in a group and talked about Pampers products and ways that we could incorporate them into our blogs as P&GMom's. Our last stop was in the P&G Beauty lounge for nails and teeth whitening with CoverGirl and Crest Whitestrips. Of course I had already painted my nails prior to going but I took a look at the fab colours available this fall! Also, I asked if it was safe to use Crest White Strips while pregnant and the rep said it was best to consult a doctor first so I did not end up participating in that either but watched others demo the product. It's always better to be safe and well educated with everything, right? :)

The group photo was kind of funny, there were too many of us for the stage but we all had a good laugh trying to squeeze in for a nice shot. I think you MIGHT see me somewhere at the back.

The closing speech was short and sweet, a thank you for coming and a warm good-bye although kind of sad to leave everybody.

We did not go for swag, we did not go for freebies - we came invited as bloggers to learn about a family-known brands we all respect and use in our daily lives. To share with you great tips, savings and more; We are P&GMom's!

P&G certainly outdid themselves for this fun P&GMom launch event, I can't wait to work with them for the next year and share what I learn! Thank you to P&G and the team at Citizen Optimum for having us at your fabulous launch event!

And to all my fellow bloggers, new friends and old - it was fantastic reconnecting and getting to spend time with you in Toronto!

See my experience in pictures!

November is finally here which gives us a little over a month to prepare all things Christmas for the upcoming 2012 holiday season! Have your kids started making their Christmas lists yet? Our kids have had theirs in mind since last year I think but they are always coming up with new things they would like to add!

They can ask for whatever they want, I don't mind. A longer list gives us more of an idea of things to choose from! Of course it doesn't mean they will get every single item on these lists but here are a few fun ones we have narrowed down for this year from Hasbro Canada!

Every little girl wants a pony and now she can have one with Furreal Friends Baby Butterscotch - My Magical Show Pony! A life-like miniature pony that responds to your touch! Baby Butterscotch can move her head, ears and make pony noises. She also can stand, sit and lay down. When you pet her or brush her fur she will nuzzle up to you and also look in your direction when you speak to her! An amazing gift for any little girl who loves pets especially ponies!

Our daughter loves animals and pets so this is definitely going to be a huge surprise for her! She got Cookie My Playful Pup last year for her birthday from her grandfather and still plays with it constantly. Baby Butterscotch will be a fantastic addition to my daughters "pet" collection!

We have a Transformers fan in our house, little guy loves Transformers and he is forever collecting different ones.  This year he will be happy to start his own Transformers Bot Shots collection. Tiny robots that pack a big punch! Choose a power, crash into transformers battle and defeat your opponent! Bot Shots are cool because they transform from robot to vehicle on impact, little guy is going to LOVE that! You can collect a variety of different Transformers characters from Bumblebee to Ironhide, Optimus Prime and more!

We did not forget about baby-to-be when it comes to gift giving this holiday season. Although she isn't born yet, she will be shortly after the holidays so why not give her a little something under the tree too? The Rocktivity Sit to Stand Music Skool by PlaySkool is the perfect toy to delight and entertain baby with more than 50 familiar songs, sounds and activities! It can be used for three different stages, when baby is on the floor, when baby can sit up and when of course baby can stand! I like how simple it is with not too many flashy lights and buttons. I remember having a baby piano for our older daughter when she was a baby and it was overwhelming with too many things all at once. This one seems calmer and something that our baby will definitely enjoy in the months to come!

You can find these and other great holiday gift ideas for everyone from babies to the older, young at heart on www.hasbro.ca

The holidays are just around the corner and we are thinking about family, friends, loved ones and our furry friends - our pets!

We have had a change in our pet family here at home. We lost our beloved Hazel cat in Fall of 2011 when she disappeared one evening and never returned. She was one of our favorites and is still missed today.

We had been living with our two dogs, Zeus and Ruffy until this past spring. We took in another fur baby, a chihuahuah mix named Mia. At only 5 months old Mia was too much puppy for her previous owner. She was loved, she was well taken care of except she was just more than what they had expected. She needed a lot of training and a lot of attention and since I am home most of the time and have the time *plus two already trained dogs* we decided to give her a new forever home.

This makes me happy, knowing she will be celebrating her first Christmas with a family who loves her (including the two other dogs, you would be surprised at how quickly they have bonded). Having pets, especially dogs in our lives is warming. It gives a warm feeling knowing you are doing something to help at least one animal.

Iams is celebrating their 14th annual IAMS Home 4 The Holidays Program, we are happy to help spread the word once again for the lives of animals across the country. IAMS Home 4 The Holidays is an amazing adoption program in participation with the Helen Woodward animal centre which helps find homes for animals across the country, right in time for the holiday season.

IAMS Home 4 The Holidays is on its 14th year and counting, helping over 7 million homeless animals find loving families and forever homes for the holidays for the past 13 years.

You can become involved through IAMS Bags 4 Bowls, every purchase of IAMS pet food donates a bowl of food to a local pet shelter. Look for specially marked IAMS products where pet food is sold.

You can also check out the IAMS Facebook Page. This year, on top of helping homeless animals find their families, IAMS is also donating bowls of pet food to local shelters for every "like" on their page! The goal is 5 million bowls this year so lets head over and help them reach it! It only takes a minute to click like and feed a pet in your community.

Having a pet is wonderful and if you are thinking of helping out IAMS by adopting a pet you can visit your local shelter or use the IAMS Pet Finder through the Facebook Page to find your perfect furry friend!

Last year an estimated 1.2 million pets were adopted through the IAMS Home 4 the Holidays program and over 5 million bowls donated to participating shelters with 75,000 in Canada alone. With a little love and an open home, we can reach this goal again if not more. Thank You!

For more information about the campaign or to find out how to get involved, become a fan of the Iams Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Iams or visit www.iams.ca.

I have some exciting news, you may or may not have seen me tweeting about it on Twitter the past couple of weeks! I'm a P&GMom!

What is a P&GMom? 40 Canadian moms were recently chosen out of many across the country and invited to be P&G (Proctor & Gamble) ambassadors aka P&GMoms! We have been invited to get the inside scoop about the greatness P&G brings to our families through their trusted products and brands such as Tide, Pampers, Crest, Oral-B, CoverGirl and Pantene Pro-V just to name a few.

To kick off the program, P&G invited us all to an intimate breakfast and day of learning and networking at the new luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Yorkville (Toronto). The out-of-towners like me will be spending tomorrow night, November 7th at the Four Seasons to meet the crew, have a nice dinner together and prepare for our exciting day coming on November 8th!

P&G have an amazing day lined up for us, I can't wait to share it with all of you! Of course I will be reporting back here on the blog about my experience but while I'm away you can follow me on twitter @AMotherhoodBlog and check for special P&G Mom tweets using hashtag #PGMom!

As a #PGMom I am happy to tell you that on November 7th, you can go to www.brandsaver.ca and order up to $164 worth of P&G coupons! Save on everything from Swiffer to Tide and more! Tons of savings the whole family can use!

With only two more months left until baby-to-be arrives it is a good time to start talking about skin care. Pregnancy can take its toll on the skin between stretching to make room for baby, hormones and all that fun stuff. It's a good idea to take care with proper moisturizers and lotions not only to help reduce and avoid stretch marks but also itchy dry skin.

PTPA award winning miniOrganics is a skincare company specifically geared for expectant and new moms. Made in Australia, miniOrganics offers a wide range of creams, lotions and balms to help your skin during and after pregnancy.

-Nourishing Body Oil is a unique blend of certified organic antioxidant rich Camilla Tea, Avocado, Jojoba and Rosehip oils combined with safe essential oils known for soothing, rejuvenating and restoring the skin in a natural way. miniOrganics Nourishing Body Oil promotes skin elasticity and leaves the skin supple and smooth from fourth month pregnancy and beyond. Apply liberally to the skin daily, recommended use on damp skin helps absorb the nutrients to ensure maximum hydration and reduce the look of stretch marks.

-Enriched Moisturizer is on of miniOrganic's popular products and essential for nourishing, conditioning and supporting skin during pregnancy. miniOrganics Enriched Moisturizer is a blend of the finest certified organic butters and antioxidant rich oils infused with their unique blend of essential oils chosen for their healing, restoring and regenerating properties to help promote elasticity in the latter months of pregnancy and post natal, keeping skin soft and supple and also helping reduce stretch marks.

Soothing Nipple Balm is every nursing mom's favourite product according to miniOrganics (and the rave reviews). Made with a rich mixture of organic shea and cocoabutters, Olive and Primrose oils, miniOrganic's Soothing Nipple Balm soothes and heals dry, cracked nipples between feedings. With a low-melting point it is perfect to apply anytime needed. This product is certified organic to food grade standards so there is no need to remove before feeding.

MiniOrganic not only caters to skin care for moms and moms-to-be but also baby too with their Gentle baby wash, Nappy balm, Infant moisturizer and Superfine jojoba lotion.

What I like about miniOrganics besides the fact their products are effective and great to use is that they are all natural and organic. I have always believed in organic skin products to have the best results and miniOrganic does not disappoint.

You can see the entire line of miniOrganics products on their website and order directly online! Also, follow miniOrganics on Twitter and Like them on Facebook for the latest updates!
