I like having the option of taking the kids out with baby in her stroller for anything from a family walk to running errands, instead of taking the bus or car. One thing I hate is carrying a ton of baggage for one or more of the three kids. With baby comes lots of stuff and when we are out she still needs bottles, diapers etc. A diaper bag is great but what about something insulated for bottles?

The Playtex ® SmartCool ™ Bottle Tote On-the-Go is the perfect stroller accessory! This handy insulated cooler bag holds up to 3 standard sized bottles and keeps them cool for up to 14 hours! This bag is great for storing both warm and cold bottles as its insulated as well as there are two full sized removable freezer gel packs *one on each interior wall of the bag*. If you have extra things to carry there are three deep pockets for storing extra items. There's even a detachable pouch to carry an extra bottle nipple or pacifier. The bag is made with a nylon type material, similar to that of a lunch bag which makes it easy to just wipe clean!

It has sturdy, thick zippers and a handle on top to carry if needed. It's a very well made, durable bag. Another great thing about the Playtex ® SmartCool ™ Bottle Tote On-the-Go is that it actually has multiple uses. You can store bottles when you travel, have baby babysat or have a day out with the family or you can keep snacks and drinks fresh for toddlers and older kids too! It's big enough for bottles but not too big to put inside a diaper bag. I can see this will be being used time and time again in our family for sure!

More information about Playtex visit the Playtex Mommyville website! If you'd like to purchase the Playtex ® SmartCool ™ Bottle Tote On-the-Go you can find it exclusively at Babies R Us

Easter is less than a week away and we are preparing for our celebrations this weekend.  Every year the kids of course get treats on Easter Sunday from "the Easter Bunny". We usually stick to something simple like certain special chocolate treats but this year, we are going to have a little more fun with Easter thanks to Hasbro Canada!

Hasbro has some great toys and games available for Easter time this year. From boys toys to girls toys, games and play doh play sets you can find just about anything for your Easter baskets this year!

Beyblade Basic Battle Tops: Although for ages 8 and up, my son loves Beyblade (he calls it Beybade). He is always talking about it! He has a couple already and wants to continue to add onto his collection so these Beyblade Battle tops are a great addition! Collect, customize and compete with Beyblade Preformance Top System spinning battle tops! Includes 5-piece top, left-spin ripcord launcher, collector card and assembly tool. Each sold

Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers Mystery Packs: I love these mystery packs Hasbro has available and I'm glad to see them out once again for Easter! Not only do they make a great extra but also great to give out as little gifts to guests with children who may visit for the holiday. Kids can build their own Transformers adventures with the 2-in-1 Microchangers figure in these mystery packs! Build up a Kreo robot figure (with included parts), take it apart and rebuild it into a vehicle! Kids can get either Warpath, Airachnid or Rampage! Ages 6 and up.

Angry Birds Star Wars Mystery Bags: Similar to the Transformers mystery packs, these contain a collectable Angry Birds Star Wars character. My son has an iPod touch and one of his all-time favourite games is of course Angry Birds! Each mystery bag contains two random Angry Birds Star Wars which could be one of two exclusive characters such as Han Solo (in carbonite) and Wedge Antilles birds! You never know what you'll get! Ages 5 and up.

NERF Super Soaker Microburst Blaster: Spring has sprung and we are already looking forward to a summer with NERF Super Soaker! This is a simple hand-held, pump and squirt water blaster. It has the same great bright orange colour on it as the other models, it shoots up to 20 feet away with its refillable tank! Ages 6 and up.

Furreal Friends Hop 'N Cuddle Bunnies: My oldest daughter asked me for a bunny the other day. I explained to her how much work they are and how we already have three dogs. What better way to give her what she wants without the extra work with a Furreal Friends bunny! These bunnies are cute and cuddley. They hop around when you put them down, make cute bunny noises and will circle around back to you! Great addition for any Furreal Friends collection! Ages 4 and up.

Furreal Friends Snuggimals Walkin' Ponies: All the fun of a real Pony but smaller as these cute little ponies trot when  you pet their backs, make pony sounds and come with accessories for your little farmer to take care of them! Ages 4 and up.

I am always looking for new and fun things to simplify mommyhood, especially with a three month old baby. It's always handy to take shortcuts and use accessories that cut time and make things a little easier.

Playtex® is well known for it's baby products and ways to make life a little easier on moms both seasoned and new. I have used many a Playtex® product in the past with my older two children when they were babies. I'm happy to see Playtex® is still coming up with great new products for parents that are not only safe but useful for the busy everyday.

Playtex® SmartPrep Formula Dispenser is great if you need to be organized in advance like busy mornings, travel or even when you have a sitter watching your baby - you can always make sure you are measuring the right amount of formula. Make it even easier by prefilling your bottles with boiled water and voila! Simply add the formula, mix and warm!

It has four Precise-pour spouts that each hold 8oz of powder so you always get the right amount and little to no mess! It has a snap n' click leak proof seal for when you store it on the go.

My experience:

This is a really great accessory to have as you can use it for baby cereal as well as baby formula. Great for preparing things for a day out, travelling or having a sitter. You can have peace of mind knowing that the proper amounts are already measured and you don't have to worry about any mistakes when it comes to making the baby formula/cereal. I like how the snap lids seal shut to ensure freshness and no leaks or spills. It's a great size to put into the diaper bag too.

My only problem was when it came to actually pouring powdered formula out of it. Formula tends to have a sticky texture, especially higher-iron ones and I found it a little difficult to pour. You almost have to shake it out. I think it would probably be easier to pour dry baby cereal from it though.

That of course is minor and I think this is an over all good addition for on-the-go families. It would make a great gift for a baby shower too. The Playtex® SmartPrep Formula Dispenser can be purchased for around $6.99 anywhere Playtex brand baby items are sold.

You may or may not know this but I blog from home. I don't have a specific area I really call "mine". Having at least one of three children at home with me at all times makes it difficult to sit in one spot if I have a long to-do list. I have my netbook and USB drives for digital files, a notebook for contacts and ideas, and a couple of folders for everything else.

One thing I have always been fond of is Post-it Notes! Those brightly coloured little sticky note pads that makes remembering important things so much easier. I use them for absolutely everything from writing down important dates, projects, ideas, things we need around the house and just about anything else I need in my face to remember! My fridge often looks like a Picasso of Post-It's colour!

Laundry is one of those unavoidable, mundane daily tasks I have to face being a mom of a family of five; Three kids and two adults can accumulate a LOT of laundry. From simply living to accidental spills, loads of laundry are almost a daily thing in my house. Maybe we should consider buying a second washer and dryer set maybe? ;) Just kidding!

Laundry isn't so bad when you're using the right detergents and softeners. When you have to throw back items because the stains aren't coming out or they just don't smell fresh - then there's a problem.

Right now we purchase different kinds of detergents, one for the kids and grown-ups and one special for our baby's sensitive skin. We don't want to use anything with perfumes or dyes that might cause her irritation just from wearing a cute outfit!

We now have a solution to having to use multiple detergents - Introducing softness for sensitive skin with new Free & Gentle/Free & Sensitive line of laundry detergents and softeners from P&G

Wash with Tide Free & Gentle Liquid laundry detergent, specially designed for sensitive skin. It contains no dyes, chemicals or fragrances and you can bet your laundry will come out as clean as ever. Gentle enough to use on clothes for baby's too.

Soften with Ultra Downy Free & sensitive liquid Softener, experience the softness of Downy without any dyes, perfumes or worries. Ultra Downy Free & Sensitive is the leading "free" liquid softener that is also dermatologist tested so that you can enjoy your fabric softer, fresher and with fewer wrinkles.

Protect with Bounce Free & Sensitive dryer sheets. Enjoy the softness and freshness of dryer sheets without dyes or perfumes, like your sensitive skins BFF!

I love the new Free & Gentle/Free & Sensitive line of laundry detergent. Not only do they smell awesome and do the job but I don't have to worry about buying a separate detergent for the baby clothes anymore either!

Laundry facts:

Did you know that during World Wars I & II, an animal and vegetable fat shortage triggered the creation of detergent surfactants. Proctor & Gamble invented Tide in 1943!

Surfactant molecules have two parts. One is "water loving" and the other is "water hating". The water-loving (hydrophobic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in soils, loosening and removing them from fabrics.

Detergents usually contain more than one type of surfactant to address the needs of removing certain types of soils and cleaning different types of fabrics.

Other ingredients in laundry detergent can include: Fluorescent whitening agents (to help maintain whiteness or brightness) Enzymes (to help break down complex soils such as blood and grass) Fragrances (to help clothes smell clean).

We learn something new every day!

Sometimes you can find hidden treasures in the least expected places. Mortimer Snodgrass is a fun shop offering gifts of all kinds for kids of all ages and pets too!

Mortimer Snodgrass sounds like a name taken from a fictitious character from a story but really, the name originated from the family dog! He has quite the story to his name!

If you live in the Montreal, Quebec area you can take a look at the shop in-person for yourself or if you prefer shopping online they offer that too. Did I mention that Mortimer Snodgrass ships everywhere?

What I like about gift shops like this is that you can find a great unique gift for someone that you may not have otherwise thought of yourself. Little trinkets, toys, apparel, stuffed animals and items to use around the home for health and wellness are just a few of the great things you can find at Mortimer Snodgrass. There's something for just about everyone.

I was sent along a few items to get a taste of what the shop has to offer.

The Hot/Cold packs are awesome! I've seen similar ones, these are fun because they are shaped like different animals. The Chick is big enough to put on a grown man's shoulder. We tried that one out after hubby hurt himself last week. He was impressed at the amount of time the heat actually lasted for only being heated for 15 seconds in the microwave. The Polar Bear is a smaller sized, I'd say it's made more or less for the freezer although you can also heat it up. It's great for smaller areas and kids. The larger size Hot/Cold packs go for $12 while the smaller ones go for $6. These would make a fun "get-well" gift!

The Night Owl night light is cute, my son claimed it right away. He and the dark do not get along and he is always flipping the switch on in the hallway at night. It takes 3 AA batteries and you simply press the owl to turn it on or off. The light is pretty dim but good enough to give some peace of mind to a little boy who's afraid of monsters under the bed.

You read that right! Best Buy Canada, which is well-known for selling today's top home electronics and newly added baby gear, now have expanded and offers toys and games for kids of all ages!

Although pieces and parts aren't for every mom, we all grew up with it. My brother had tons of Lego and at one point even built the Olympic torch out of them! I can't build anything for the life of me, believe me I've tried. Hubby on the other hand can spend hours with our son building different things with Lego.

I do like Lego because it gives a sense of learning with play. Kids can do whatever they want with Lego, build things only their young imaginations can come up with and Lego is also a great way to spend time together doing something as a family.

Lego has changed over the years, today's Lego is not your typical block. Lego offers some great Lego play sets for all ages and stages including ones for girls available at Bestbuy.ca!

We were sent over some of the Lego sets to take a look at. We took a look at 5 Lego play sets:

Lego Hero Factory Bruizer ($15.99) - The LEGO Hero Factory has a monster to deal with. Bruizer is a stone-faced beast created by the evil brains and is armed with a swinging rock-smasher fist, rock shoulder armour and razor spikes! Watch out for him!

Creator 3 in 1 Fierce Flyer ($17.99) - Let the imagination soar to new heights with the LEGO 3-in-1 Fierce Flyer. This ferocious bird of prey has detailed wings, gripping talons, and movable tail feathers and feet. If you don't feel like soaring the skies Fierce Flyer can be rebuilt into a scorpion or a beaver! The scorpion features movable legs and pincers, and a jointed tail with stinger! The beaver features movable tail, feet and arms! With three different animals to create and 166 pieces, Creator 3-in-1 Fierce Flyer is geared toward kids ages 7-12 years old.

Lego Star Wars Naboo Starfighter ($12.99) - Take to the skies above planet Naboo but the Naboo Starfighter Lego set. Naboo's precious resources must be protected from the evil Trade Federation. Use this Naboo Starfighter mini model with blaster to defend this planet against worldly threats!

You can hang the Naboo planet from your ceiling and start your Star Wars Lego collection! The Naboo planet is 3" in diameter while the starfighter is over 4" long once built. A simpler model with 56 pieces (including Naboo pilot mini figure), Lego Star Wars Naboo planet and starfighter is geared toward kids aged 6-12 years old.

Legend of Chima - Nest Dive ($19.99) - Take a journey into the Eagle tribes treetop territory and test your skill! Attach Eglor onto the Eagle speedor, pull the cord and aim for the leaf ramp to fly up into the nest to claim the CHI for the Eagles! You can attach a power-up for improved precision! Set comes with mini figure, 2 weapons, Speedor, rip-cord, 6 CHI and 5 game cards. With 97 pieces this set is suitable for ages 6 and up.

Our little man turns five years old this week. Five years already, wow. Time sure has flown right by. 5 is a major milestone birthday, in my opinion. No longer is he a baby but my tiny Miracle man has grown into a wonderful, bright little boy who is a joy to be around every day.

It's hard to believe that was me in that picture, five years ago. Holding our little boy in the NICU at the general hospital. I always knew he was a special little guy.

He started junior Kindergarten in the fall and has been thriving. He went in as a quiet, timid little four year old without a clue about the big big world he was about to embark on.

We did find out along the way that little guy has delays in speech development and it does affect his overall learning abilities but with our help, the help of the school and friends around him, he has improved and continues to show improvement, beating the odds and proving them wrong again.

He may have trouble pronouncing some words but he thrives in so many other areas. Recently he was honoured in school along with a select other few children in recognition of showing love for their school community. He received a special certificate at an assembly in front of the school! Proud mama moment!

He always wants to participate in games, even if its just his big sister. He always wants to help me, even if I'm just doing a simple task - he shows he is always there for his family. He has a favourite stuffed animal, a dog he named Ruffy (after my Chihuahua). Some nights he won't go to bed unless he has the dog tucked in bed with him. He likes to sing and dance, even if he doesn't know all the words. He's scared of the dark but insists he's a "Ninja Turtle" - his imagination is wonderful.

He's all a little boy could be and more from his love of animals to his interest in anything with wheels - he is my little man with so much to give to the world and he is only five years old.

This week I celebrate my little miracle man, all he has brought to the family and to me as his mother. Everything is totally worth it from the sleepless nights of the baby years to the fears they bring us getting on a school bus for the first time when they tell you they love you each night before bed. You know you are doing something right.

He may not say much but he knows how to say enough to melt his mama's heart. Every. Time.

Happy Birthday Little Man - Love always, Mommy. xox

I am a coffee addict. There, I said it.  On the go or at home, I can't go a day without my coffee fix and in fact I need several in a day to keep going between meals. During the warmer months I tend to slack off on my coffee drinking, it's already hot enough without warming up from the inside out. I do tend to miss the pick-me-ups.

I have never tried an energy drink before but I was interested in trying out a new ready-to-go cold drink from Starbucks!

Last year Starbucks introduced customers to Starbucks Refreshers - sparkling green coffee energy beverages. They are lightly carbonated, caffeinated and now made for on the go available in cans!

I was sent some Starbucks refreshers to try out. Now, these are caffeinated drinks so I would not recommend letting your kids at them unless you want to peel them off the walls mid-afternoon. No, I didn't give any to my kids but I can imagine from trying it myself what it would be like had they tried it too.

Made with real fruit juice and only 60 calories per 355ml can, Starbucks refreshers are something new out of the ordinary cold energy drinks. They contain vitamins B, C and energy from green coffee extract! The coffee extract may throw people off but I think they are overall flavourful, not too sweet and there is a kick to them.

These ready-to-drink Starbucks drinks can be found in grocery, convenience and gas station convenience locations across the country. Ready-to drink Starbucks Refreshers come in new flavours including raspberry, pomegranate, strawberry lemonade and orange melon!

For more information about Starbucks refreshers and other products visit www.starbucks.ca!

One of my favourite seasons is just around the corner, Spring time! To me, Spring time is like getting a fresh new start. The snow melts and buds of grass and other plant life begin to spring up fresh and new. Spring is also a time we like to get rid of accumulated stuff from winter like clothes, jackets, blankets and other things we will need but don't need to keep out. A little Spring cleaning every year, even if we don't always like doing it!

I don't know if I am the only one with one of these but isn't this cool? My picture is on a special "Thank You" Peanut Butter Jar! No, you won't be able to find this in store, it's a special gift. You're probably wondering how this happened, it's not that crazy a story I promise!

If you have been reading this blog for some time now you may have noticed I have worked with Kraft Canada on several different product reviews and giveaways here on A Motherhood Experience. I also Tweet often, I'm very active in social media (when I can or have the urge to just tweet my heart out) and I guess Kraft has noticed over the years.

I was sent an email a few weeks ago asking for my info, a picture and if I could be sent a peanut product from Kraft Peanut butter. Intrigued and honoured that they thought of me, I said yes and sent my Twitter link so they could use that image for whatever they had in mind!

A couple of weeks later I get a package via courier which looked like it could be a container or jar of some kind. To my surprise it was a jar of Peanut Butter with my picture and a personalized "Thank You" from Kraft!

That is one gift I never thought of. I knew it was going to be something personalized but not my very own Peanut Butter jar! The kids thought it was so neat and couldn't believe it "Mom? On a peanut butter jar?!"

"Thank You" right back at Kraft Canada for taking the time and consideration to make a blogger and brand supporter feel appreciated. It's always a pleasure working with a brand who knows not only bloggers but knows people too.

Spring ahead, fall back. We do it twice a year - change the clocks back or ahead an hour for daylight savings time. On March 10th we will be springing the clocks ahead an hour and getting some much needed extra daylight (and maybe extra vitamin D) in our lives.

With the reminder of Daylight Savings its also a good time to remember to change the batteries in your smoke detector and go over some simple family-friendly fire safety rules with your family. The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs in partnership with Duracell recommend these simple yet essential steps to maximize fire safety within your home:

- Install at least one working smoke detector per storey of your house and outside all sleeping areas. Test your alarms monthly and remember to change the batteries twice a year during daylight savings.

- Create a floor plan and fire exit plan that clearly outlines the best way for the family to get out of the house incase of an emergency. Post it in a common area such as the fridge where everyone can see and make sure to practice your fire drill once a year. You can even make it a family thing by creating a special date to preform your family fire drill.

- With everything being electronic these days from computers to telephones, wires are all over the place. Keep wires safely out of doorways and avoid running them under carpet which is a fire hazard. Also never overload your outlets with too many plugs especially power adapters which can tend to get hot and overload causing fire. Use electronics that are approved by recognized agencies like Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

- Enjoy candles like I do? Make sure candles are completely out, use a candle douser instead of blowing on them which can send the flame flying if your not careful. During a power outage use flashlights or battery powered lamps instead of candles.

- Cooking is the number one cause of fires in the home. Remember "look while you cook" and never leave unattended food cooking on a stove top.

- Give space heaters space. Keep them at least a metre away from flammable items like curtains, bedding and magazines. Remember to turn space heaters off before leaving the house or going to sleep. Also keep children away from space heaters at all times.

Be safe and have a happy spring everyone!

We began teaching the kids how to care for their teeth at a young age. They say the best medicine for young, healthy teeth is selecting healthy foods like fruits and vegetables and avoiding overly sugary foods especially between meals when the mouth's natural saliva is low.

Seeing a dentist every six months is recommended as soon as your child has teeth, for routine check ups and to make sure everything's growing as it should. We are lucky because on top of regular dental care, our kids school offers dental screening from a dental hygienist twice a school year and he/she reports any problems to the parents which may need a dentist visit sooner than the regular scheduled check ups.

Brushing basics

Supervised tooth-brushing routine has always taken place to make sure they are doing a decent job. We go through a lot of kids tooth brushes as its recommended to replace every three months.

Hubby and I use Oral-B electric tooth brushes, I switched almost a year ago and hubby not too long ago -what a difference! I'm happy to say there is also a new electric tooth brush for kids aged 8 and up now too! Since I've had mine, K has been asking about having her own and I really don't like the ones you buy, they die and you can't replace the battery. The new Oral-B Pro-Health for Me Vitality electric toothbrush is the perfect tooth brush for young mouths. It has a waterproof handle with a fun design and is compatible with multiple toothbrush heads including Ortho Brush head designed to clean away gunk around braces! Like the adult version, this toothbrush also features a brushing timer to ensure they are brushing for the dentist recommended two-minutes and its rechargable!

If they prefer the manual method, try the Oral-B CrossAction Pro-Health tooth brush. It removes 90% of plaque in hard to reach places, helps reduce gingivitus and more to ensure your kids have a clean and healthy mouth!

Don't forget the floss!

I've always been a fan of the floss and my kids follow by example.  We all know flossing is important to help remove plaque and food particles from those spaces between your teeth that the brush can't reach. Flossing also promotes healthy gums. Research shows that regular flossing with brushing can reduce the chances of gum disease. Using floss such as Glide that slides easily in tight spaces, follow these easy steps:

- Wind 18" of floss around your middle fingers
- Gently glide floss between teeth to the gum line
- Curve the floss to contact as much of the tooth as possible
- Gently move the floss up and down
- Use a fresh section of the floss for each tooth
