My daughter has always had very long hair and always keeps it up, especially at school and when she is outside in the hot summer months. When it comes to actual hair styles, she likes playing around with ponytails, pig tails, braids and of course, hair accessories!

Goody has always offered up an abundance of cute and fashionable hair tools and accessories to get the perfect look in a couple of simple steps. From the new Tanglefix brush (which I absolutely love!) to hair clips, flowery headbands, Softies stick on barrettes and more, you can get Goody hair anytime.

Goody brings a new way to create the classic bun look this summer. Worn up, worn down or worn with cute accessories - anyone can create a beautiful "runway" style bun with new Goody bun foundation tool and hair accessories!

The Goody bun foundation tool looks somewhat like a round sponge and it comes in black. It's simple enough to use following these steps:

1) Begin with hair in a ponytail

2) Place the bun foundation tool at the base of the ponytail and divide the ponytail into two sections.

3) Wrap each section around the bun foundation tool and secure with an elastic.

4) Wrap the remaining hair around the bun for a classic look or give it a braid for something more fancy. Finish your look by adding accessories like flower clips or pins!

Find out where you can get Goody products and learn new hair styling ideas by visiting www.goody.com. Also, follow @GoodyCanada on Twitter and Like Goody Canada on Facebook for more Goody fun!

This Saturday, May 23rd marks the 8th annual Telus Day of Giving!

"We Give Where We Live" is the motto that brings together 13,000+ Telus volunteers, their families and friends together in over 40 regions across the province to do good in their community. Services have included putting in hours at local food banks, homeless shelters, helping out at local hospitals and park maintenance etc.

Check out Michelle's Story below, it'll give you some insight to how Team Telus has been giving where they live!

You can also learn more about Telus day of giving here.

Right here in Ottawa team Telus will be rolling up their sleeves and helping prepare the Youville Center school grounds for the summer. Painting, planting flowers and yard work will be done in no time - all for the community.

We had our hearts set on helping Team Telus out tomorrow in Ottawa but unfortunate events occurred which caused us to have to turn down the opportunity. It would have been a great opportunity to further teach my oldest daughter hands-on about doing social good in our city.

We may not be able to be there in person but Telus has a special way in which we can still participate with the "Give Where We Live" photo contest!

It's easy for you to participate too! Simply visit http://givewherewelive.ca and upload a picture demonstrating how you give where you live! 10 prizes of $10,000 each will be donated to the final winners favourite charity!

As always you can participate in the fun and follow the 8th annual Telus Day of giving on twitter @Telus with hashtag #givewherewelive

It's time to get those tail's wagging and dogs howlin' because it's concert time!

The P&G Pet Care team are proud to announce the launch of new Iams SO GOOD dog food here in Canada this summer and to celebrate they are throwing the first ever concert just for your dogs - IAMS SO GOOD! Doggie Jam!

You and your furry friends are invited June 8th to join Iams to attend this special classical music concert where a 42 piece orchestra will preform music created specifically for canine hearing. The Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam is a one of a kind event that is guaranteed fun for everyone!

When:  Saturday, June 8th 2013 4:00-8:00pm

Where: Echo Beach - 999 Lakeshore Blvd. West, Toronto Ontario M6K 3L3.

Tickets to this fantastic event can be purchased through Ticketmaster!

To celebrate the event, Iams has created this heart warming video that captures the loving relationships between pets and their owners and also gives you a look at what the Iams SO GOOD Doggie Jam will be all about!

Unfortunately due to location I won't be attending this event but it does sound really fun. If I lived in Toronto or close enough to I would definitely bring my dog. No, not the Doberman - she would clear the place (reason why I call her "Crazy Daisy") but my two Chihuahuas would probably enjoy it. They are pretty well behaved and I would have an excuse to finally buy Mr. Ruffy a carry bag. Totally kidding. ;-)

I'll be following along on Twitter and you can too by following @IAMS and using hashtag #IAMsSoGood

To those who do get to go, have a great time! :-)

Do you live in the Toronto area or planning on being in town on June 8th? Well, you're in luck because I have a family pass (for four) to Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam to give away to one lucky reader!

This prize includes a Family pack of four tickets to see the concert and 2 product vouchers to try out new Iams SO GOOD! Dog food!

Entrants must be from the Toronto, Ontario area or willing to travel to attend this event. No transportation, No accommodations or any other means are included in this giveaway. Please see giveaways terms and conditions on the Rafflecopter ballot for more details!

Ladies, picture it: Tired after a long morning, you are walking through a very packed and busy store trying to buy things you need for your family dinner that evening. You are on a tight schedule and don't have much of it to spend in the store. With you are your children, including a baby in a stroller. This sounds just like a mix for a sweaty situation.

The baby begins to cry, the kids begin to fight knocking over items off the shelf and the people behind you in line begin to develop annoyed looks on their faces - Don't sweat it, Handle it with Lady Speed Stick.

Lady Speed Stick Power provides long-lasting superior protection to help women feel dry and fresh, in any sweat-inducing situation.

I have used Lady Speed Stick in the past, it has always been one of the few kinds I will turn to when shopping antiperspirant. I am quite active and sweat quite a lot (running after kids, who doesn't!) so I need an antiperspirant that not just masks smell but actually keeps me dry and also smells good.

I was sent along two Lady Speed Stick Power antiperspirants in fresh fusion and cool breeze. I have always been a fan of the solid, invisible antiperspirants than the gel kind. I don't like the wet feeling or waiting for it to dry before being able to finish getting dressed.

Lady Speed Stick does its job without having to reapply throughout the day or even in the evening like some kinds are needed. It doesn't leave any residue on your clothes and goes on invisible as said. The gel kind is actually surprising as it dries much faster than other kinds. Lady Speed Stick helps keep me dry in any sweaty situation!

Check out how this mom-to-be handled her sweaty situation:

Lady Speed Stick Power has tough, invisible 24 hour protection and comes in four great scents to keep you fresh from morning until night!

Now until May 24 Lady Speed Stick is offering up fans some great savings! Click here for more info!

SheBlogs Giveaway!

Win 1 of 6 Lady Speed Stick gift baskets which include an assortment of scents (Fruity Melon, Stainguard Daringly Fresh, Power Cool Breeze, Power Fresh and Irish Spring Original) to keep you dry!

To enter visit the Sheblogs website! Must be Canadian resident to be eligible to win! SIX lucky winners will be drawn on May 31st! Good Luck!!

Today I was going about my usual business online which includes checking things out for the AME Facebook page, making sure everything was running smoothly and also if I had any messages.

As per usual notifications sat in the upper left corner waiting to be checked, one of which I happened to be tagged in. My amazing fellow blogger friends brought to my attention that I have been honoured this month - as Playtex Mommyville Mom of the Month! Thanks ladies for pointing it out and making me smile :)

In a previous post, I talked about this fun initiative by Playtex to help make one mom feel special once a month by featuring her on the Playtex Facebook fan page as the Mom of the Month and I filled out the form for the title, for fun!

I wasn't expecting the honour and I am a bit sad I hadn't seen it sooner but happy I did see it before the months end! :) It's not always sunny skies when wearing the mom hat, it's nice to be recognized :)

Check out my pic (with my daughter K) featured on the Playtex Mommyville Facebook fan page!

Playtex Mommyville Mom of the Month is ongoing every month so go like the facebook page and fill out the M.O.M questions, next month could be you!

Thank you to Playtex Mommyville for the honour and to my three beautiful kids for making me "mom". :-)

At the beginning of May I began a fun photo-a-day challenge with the P&GMom's! Each day for the past 15 days we have been posting a photo-a-day using a daily word as inspiration. Some Tweets contain P&G products we have tried along the way and others may not, either way they are all fun!

It has been quite the challenge coming up with fun ways to use the daily word in both photo and caption - we are going on day 16, half way through! It's amazing how inspiration can come from the everyday things!

Check out my photos or join in the fun via Twitter by following @AMotherhoodBlog using hashtag #MonthofMom!

OR you can visit my Pinterest board dedicated to the P&GMom #MonthofMom Photo-a-Day challenge! I have posted each photo plus caption!

On Sunday May 12th, we celebrate being Moms. We celebrate our own motherhood, our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins and anybody else who has ever parented a child.

It's a day when mom gets to be queen (not that she isn't always already, am I right?).

I am one of those simple kind of moms. Sure, I would LOVE a day away from the kids at the spa to be pampered with tons of lovely gifts but that's not the point of Mother's Day to me. To me it's thoughtfulness, something to show appreciation even the smallest gesture can mean the world.

The first thing I ask for on Mother's Day is that if any of the kids (maybe except the baby) have any requests, go and ask your father. Mom's off duty as far as everyday tasks go, just this once.

Start her morning with breakfast in bed, let the kids help choose what she will have and pitch in on making it. Mom will appreciate that hot cup of coffee already brewed for her.

Get the kids to show their talent and make creative gifts. Cards, trinkets like jewelry and the like are always loved when they come from the heart - this only counts for kids dad, go out and get her something! ;-)

Moms need to relax, why not draw her a nice bath with her favourite scented bubble bath, beads, salts or whatever she enjoys. Top it off with an offer for a foot massage and a pedi, it doesn't take much to make her look and feel beautiful.

Let her decide on the afternoon if you can't think of an entire day to plan. I'm sure she's got lots of things she would love to do, maybe some of those things can be done right from home like relaxing with that book she's been wanting to read.

End the day with a nice dinner of her choice and you have yourself a simply perfect Mother's Day! :)

What will I be doing this Mother's Day? Aside from a slight chance of possibly sleeping in, I have no idea. With a young baby, life has been pretty unpredictable lately but apparently hubs and the kids have something "planned". Hmmm I wonder what it could be!

Whatever you do and however you celebrate, I wish you all an amazingly Happy Mother's Day!

Tomorrow is McHappy Day at McDonald's restaurants across the country! Last year, I told our story about why days like McHappy Day mean something to our family. You can read the post here if you already haven't.

McDonald's is celebrating 20 years of McHappy Day in Canada! Check out the History of Smiles video below to see how Ronald McDonald House charities help give sick kids what they need most - their families.

Tomorrow, I encourage you to head into your local McDonald's restaurant for a Big Mac, a Happy Meal or a McCafe. $1 from every sale is donated to children's charities like Ronald McDonald House.

Have a coffee, make a difference!

Talk McHappy tomorrow on Twitter using Hashtag #McHappyDay

Let's give a round of applauds, A Motherhood Experience turned four on the fourth! I know, it was Star Wars day so I didn't take the glory out of that by posting, plus it was a weekend of running around with the family. It was SO nice outside we didn't want to be in at all!

So four whole years of posting about being a mom, things I like and don't like. Things my kids do and don't do. Most of you have seen life through my eyes since just before my oldest kid turned 5. Imagine, she's going to be 9 this summer. You've seen us through raising our children, losing our pets and reuniting with family. You've read things from the everyday to the deeper side of life. From the silly to the serious. I need to write more posts like that. It's one of my goals for the future of this blog.

Thank you all for following me along my journey so far.

It has been beyond what I could have imagined publishing for the first time back then and it hasn't stopped being an amazing experience, I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. I'm proud to say I haven't disappeared into the pool of lost blogs! It's happened when I had attempted blogging in the past but this blog I had a feeling about. I have a passion for it. I know I will never be a "famous blogger" or make tons of money but I still enjoy doing it. I do it for me and now for you!

I enjoy sharing, I enjoy "meeting" new people and now since a few years into review blogging I enjoy connecting with great brands that my family use or perhaps would use after we give them a test run and tell you all about it.

Once again, I am as forgetful as always and have absolutely nothing planned to celebrate except this post and also continuing to bring you all the great things you love about AME!

Celebrate AME's 4th by entering and sharing these great giveaways

The past couple of days have been overall decent here in Ottawa, the sun is finally starting to come out more and it's warming up! I have long since put away the winter clothes however, I had been hoping Spring would come sooner than it did. I'm not complaining, I just love the sunny weather.

With the sunnier, warmer weather coming it's time to think about taking care of our kids skin. Summer vacation begins next month for us in June which means before we know it we will be having local pool visits and fun in the sun for summer time! We are out a lot in the summer so it's good to have a quality sunscreen lotion on hand while out.

Banana Boat® introduces Natural Reflect™ Kids sunscreen lotion SPF 50! New in Canada this year, Banana Boat® provides clinically proven protection moms love but delicate for the most sensitive - and sometimes finicky skin. The Natural Reflect Kids sunscreen lotion provides broad specrum UVA and UVB protection, is Paraben, PABA and Oxybenzone-free so parents feel comfortable applying it to their kids.

The pediatrician tested unscreen, made from 100% naturally sourced sunscreen ingredients, is also water resistant which prevents tears and stings if kids sweat or swim and it gets in their eyes!

Banana Boat® Natural Reflect™ Kids sunscreen lotion can be found in grocery, drug and mass retail outlets for around $11.99.

Reader's Review Giveaway!

This giveaway is OVER! Thank you everyone for your participation and amazing positive feedback! Congrats to the winners!

10 lucky CANADIAN AME readers won the chance to try Banana Boat® Natural Reflect™ Kids sunscreen lotion and submit their reviews to me for a chance to win a $50 VISA gift card! How cool is that!

On April 29th, my daughter and I spent the day with fellow bloggers as Telus VIP's to one of Ottawa's most energetic, inspiring event for youths today - National We Day! If you do not already know by now what We Day is, check out my post last week announcing our involvement with #TelusForWeDay :)

I've been writing and rewriting this recap post, reason why it has taken me a couple of days to post. There was just so much going on, so much to absorb and so much to recall. Can you tell? I'm still in awe over everything we experienced at National We Day.

We had been excitedly awaiting this event for a couple of weeks, watching video after video and getting ready for the big day! I had already heard so much about it from other bloggers who previously attended in other cities, I couldn't wait for my daughter to experience it all for herself too.

It was an early day but we arrived on time and met up with a Telus rep at the media doors who gave us our media tags and showed us to a room where we saw some fellow bloggers. Everyone was very friendly, which was good because I was nervous! It was nice to see some familiar faces in the media room and also put faces to some names I have known for a long time as well. My daughter became instant friends with @Shandon00's daughter too!

After some snacks, chit chat and a much needed coffee we waited in line for a chance to interview Craig Kielburger, co-founder of We Day. I had questions lined up but time was running short and my daughter asked if she could ask him something. I wouldn't deny my daughter to opportunity to learn anytime, of course she could!

She asked what Craig thought We Day meant for the world. He answered insightful, asking her about bullies at school and discussing how we can all work together to make the world a better place, one person at a time. It was great to see her absorbing everything he was saying in.

After the interview session, we were lead up to the Telus VIP lounge where we got to sit and watch the We Day festivities, speeches and performances  We did miss the first couple of speeches however we arrived on time to catch the end of the performance by Neverest.

Thousands of excited, enthusiastic students sat in the arena below us. The energy in the room was amazing as soon as you walked in. I don't think there was a soul there that day who truly did not believe in everything that We Day is.

The speakers were inspirational, telling their own personal emotional stories about how they beat the odds, they stood up and they are making a difference. Spencer West's incredible story about how despite being told he couldn't, did when he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last year - on his hands. His strength is so inspirational. Sean Desman,  pumped up the crowd with a fun performance. One of our favourite parts was the performance by OneDrop Cirque Du Soilel Founder's Initiative. It was beautiful to watch and we all had a OneDrop necklace that lit up during the performance and also toward the end of the We Day show. I thought the interaction was a great way to get everyone's attention about the One Drop initiative.

Before lunch we had the opportunity to ask questions in scrum-style interviews and although we didn't ask questions, it was a learning opportunity nonetheless. Spencer West, Sean Desman, Neverest and Martin Sheen were participating and entered the room by turn one by one. Everyone was fabulous to answer all questions, I particularly found Martin Sheen very interesting, that man has a lot of wisdom and he was such a friendly fellow to all the young people in attendance, greeting everyone. After the interviews came lunch, our Telus friends had sandwiches, salad and beverages arranged for us to enjoy while we watched the remainder of the show.

Back to the show, the rest of the afternoon was spent with more performances  stories and inspiration from speakers like Martin Sheen and Rob Stewart. Molly Burke told her story of courage standing up for her own rights despite being blind and Ottawa's own Helene Campbell retold her story about needing a double lung transplant having been diagnosed with a life threatening lung disease and how her strength and strong will created such a buzz that celebrities like Ellen Degenres and Justin Bieber heard about it through just one tweet. That is what the power of voice can do and they proved anyone can do anything if their heart is in it.

Craig and Mark Kielburger ended National We Day with one last inspirational and motivational speech and Kardinal Offishall pumped up the crowd one last time. We left the arena excited, enthusiastic and inspired. My daughter wants to make her "One Drop" gathering pennies in the Free the Children, We Create Change bags we received in our We Day gift bags and try to get her school involved more. For more info about We Day visit www.weday.com

We are honoured to have had the chance to participate and be part of something so incredible, Thank you once again Telus!
